39august Posted January 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2005 I am thinking of booking a mid-Feb. cruise. Will there be good whale-watching at that time?

hvbaskey Posted January 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2005 Baja California is the wintering haven for Gray Whales (Jan through to March) - with early arrivals in December. They calve and nurse in the lagoons. Other species available as well - but this is the time for the "grays". Heather
JohnQ Posted January 13, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2005 39august There should be whales in mid Feb. We did Pride on Feb 7th and went whalewatching in Cabo end of week. Took tour boat. Right at dock where tender comes in. About $79-89 thru ship. Cheaper with other vendors, hanging out at dock. Whales were right outside harbor and we stayed with several for at least 2.5-3hrs. I've posted a few pictures at this site: http://jquinn.photosite.com/mexico_2004_cruise
Ine Posted January 13, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2005 In P. Vallarta the whales are generally there till Mid-March. So, no problem
JohnQ Posted January 13, 2005 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2005 The whales we saw in Feb were humpbacks, as you can see from the tails and white coloring.
