Towels!

Hi all

I am a cruise virgin from rainy old England going on my first cruise at the New Year.

My question is do we need to take beach towels with us when we visit ports or can we take the ships towels off with us? If you can take them off can you get fresh one when you get back; don't want a shower followed by a towel down with a sandy towel!

 

Just want to save room in my luggage for all of my fancy dresses.

You can take your room towels with you. Your room steward will replace them. There are also pool towels which you can borrow, sometimes against a signature. Save your valuable luggage space for souvenirs!

The cruise lines usually provide towels when you disembark at various ports and you can drop them back in bins when you get back on the ship. So no need to pack towels for the ports.

The pool towels are NOT bath towels! You will have separate towels for each purpose, and you can get clean/dry pool/beach towels whenever you want...just "trade the in" for fresh ones!

If you were to bring your own towels, they would never dry properly or be cleaned....use the ship's!

As been said before, there are separate pool towels that you take to the ports with you. However, they are checking now to make sure you return them (1 per person). If not, you get charged $20 per towel.

The pool towels always seem to be a beige in color. I enjoy being on a beach at different locations and seeing all the folks with the same towels! Jan
