when was the Sun last drydocked/refurbished?

Hello all. My family is considering a cruise on the Sun next fall. She was our very first cruise ship and we loved her, but wonder if she's been refurbished in the past few years. Also wonder about how up to date the slots and other games are in the Sun's casino. If anyone knows answers, would appreciate the info.:)

The Sun is scheduled to be in dry dock at the end of September 2010. She is scheduled to do the 4 October 2010 trans-Atlantic from Dover to Port Canaveral immediately after that's done.

Jan 2007 was the last drydock. We were on the first sailing after she came out of drydock with her new hull art.

I definately want to go on the Sun again after drydock - but it must be in an AFT AC. Ahhh.... it is heaven!

No, but I expect that we can resume the game of speculating about whether the now inaccurately-named East Meets West will, this time, finally be turned into a Cagney's.

I'll be on the Sun on January 3. It will be my second time on the Sun. I'll post a review (maybe from the ship or else as soon as we return) and will try to answer your questions.

Are you looking for anything in particular in the casino?

I just got off the Spirit and it was the same machines from two years ago. She went through drydock last year.

thanks, Linda. The friends I cruise with want the more modern slots with all the bells, whistles and bonus games. Me, I stick to the poker and craps tables, and I'm sure they have those...Just trying to convince my friends that they will have a good time with the slots! As far as the rest of the Sun goes, as long as they have the Tapas bar and the Great Outdoors cafe, I'll be very happy! Looking forward to your review in January. :D

I'll check out all the slots and do a report. I personally enjoy quarter slots with machines that do silly things such as the Stampede machine or the mining one where you fill up the chute or the Double Diamond Deluxe where pictures pop up or down and of course, Wheel of Fortune... anything for entertainment value! Cruise ship casinos rarely have wonderful slot machines, but I seem to remember that the Sun was okay last time and we'll see if the same holds true on this trip.

I was just on the Solstice and was so uninterested in the casino that I saved a lot of money.
