Iron in Stateroom?

Do the inside staterooms include an iron and ironing board? If not, I'm assuming they can be requested...

No cabins have irons or ironing boards; however Princess does have laundry service facilities on each floor where you can do wash and iron your clothes. They also provide (for a small fee) pressing service. We just walk down the hall and iron, great place to meet fellow passengers

No ships (that I know of) allow irons in staterooms because of the fire hazard...

They are forward on one floor and aft on the next so you my want to book close to one if you intend to iron a lot.

 

Check out your floor plan before you book if this is important to you.

This is absolutely correct. We have had some nice chats with people there while doing laundry. Go to the Princess web site and you can look in the deck plans to find where your cabin is in relation to the laundry rooms. They are staggered by deck so depending where you are you may find it easier to go up or down one deck.

Unless of course you are on one of the babies (Pacific, Ocean, Royal) , which have only one laundromat, Deck 7, aft.

My wife seems to really enjoy it though. She's spends HOURS each week ironing.

I can actually remember a lenghty cruise on RCI where you were able to request an iron and ironing board to use for a short time in your stateroom, but it was because they didn't supply (and still don't) any self service laundry areas. Not sure if they still do that or not, it's been many years since we sailed on RCI.

When you see the size of the inside cabins, you'll know why there's no ironing board...no place for them!

I am not a huge fan of ironing, but for some reason whenever I travel I insist on ironing everything, even t-shirts, weird I know.

 

But I have gotten lazy while sailing and now just hang items in the washroom and have a shower and let the wrikles work their way out.

From what I understand, you won't be able to find irons/ironing boards in any cabins on any cruiseship.
