sandian Posted December 22, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2009 Hi Just curious noticed Explorer is sold out for 14.01.2010 with over three weeks to go. Is this usual ? or could it be they have closed bookings in case they dont get the dry dock finished.
cruisinfanatic Posted December 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2009 Hi Just curious noticed Explorer is sold out for 14.01.2010 with over three weeks to go. Is this usual ? or could it be they have closed bookings in case they dont get the dry dock finished. It is sold out. If dry dock wasn't finished, RCL would be in big trouble delaying or canceling a 10 night cruise. I have never heard of it happenning anyway. These dry docks have a very tight schedule
BND Posted December 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2009 Ships have been known to leave drydock without completing everything as a lot of things can be done while they are underway and some cosmetic things can wait. The drydock schedule is adhered to because there's almost always another ship coming in behind for refurb and you'd end up with a major domino problem if they didn't. cruzingduo Posted December 23, 2009 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2009 We are on the Feb 5th sailing and it's almost sold out too. I do see that the Royal Suite is still available :) Ship should be in great shape following drydock.
cruisinfanatic Posted December 23, 2009 #8 Share Posted December 23, 2009 And they're only doing cosmetics and repairing the prop issue. I notice you have said in this and previous posts that there is a prop issue. It was fixed quite awhile ago.
