Hello everyone. . . We picked up the Pilots at about 730PM, and just passed over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel(US13) at 830PM.

We are heading north up the Chesapeake Bay. The seas will be calm during our trip north.

We should reach the Chesapeake Bay Bridge(MD RT50) by around 5AM, and the Captain suggested that we should be at Cruise Maryland by 645AM.

Below is a photo of the Pilots being dropped off. . . More pics tomorrow !

Thanks for tuning in. . .

Radio....I haven't posted many times, but I lurked around these boards for a few years before I finally joined CC and in that time I have read alot of your posts. Thanks for this fantastic report. :D I didn't get a chance to cruise this year for a variety of reasons and reading this thread was a nice way to fill my cruise void. Once again, thanks for taking all of us along on your journey. :)

No Smoking in the Casino. . . The smoker's areas are Decks 11,12 Port side, and in The Navigator Lounge port side. . .

Hello everyone. . .We arrived at Cruise Maryland at about 630AM. The first walk off passengers started at 715AM.

The last passenger will be off by 945AM. It is very cold today (15F), but there is no wind !

I love to make "LIVE" Reports. . .and I love to be on a Cruise. I get the best of both worlds by doing this.

Thanks for all of the very nice comments. When I get home today, I will try to answer any unread or missed question.

Here are a couple pics from your intrepid reporter. (More pics later today)

Thanks for tuning in !

Hi Radio,

I have to also chime in to just offer thanks for your wonderful reports. Celebrity Mercury is what started me being hooked on Celebrity back in 1999 when I first sailed her. The details of your reports and photos are so appreciated.

Welcome Home!

Walter

Radio, thank you, thank you, thank you! You have added "bookoos" to my Mercury pre-cruise enjoyment. Welcome home! Looking forward to a web site with all your pictures. You have a gift for making the cruise come to ife---and for photography. Best wishes to you and Mrs. Radio.

Radio, can't tell you how much we've enjoyed your posts! We board her in Charleston on 3/29 and now I really can't wait. We've sailed on Galaxy, Century, all the "M" except Infinity, Horizon, Zenith and all of these quite a few times (as you can see by my signature) but this is our first Mercury.

You have brought the ship to life and I eagerly anticipate your full report and pictures in the near future.

Thanks again for taking time our from you much needed vacation for posting and reporting to all of us.

Welcome back and as others have said, that you for allowing me to live vicariously through your 'live' reports and pictures. We've not sailed Mercury (or X) before, and your photos have really set us up for having a great time.

Travel safe, and looking forward to seeing the rest of the pictures.

Radio,

Thank you so much for your posts and pictures, to see them from up here in frozen New England almost helped start the thaw. We are going on the Mercury in March and I read that you would be adding some pictures of the cabins and suite. Can't wait to see them. Thanks again and Welcome home.

Radio,

Did any passengers ever get into the pools on the ship? Seems like they were constantly empty. Did the outdoor pool ever open up?

We're boarding the Mercury Jan 23rd and have a snorkel booked for Key West and an Aquaventure at Atlantis for Nassau. Think the water will be tolerable? Thanks

Even if we are the only people in it, my husband and I plan on using the pool! But it did seem very empty!

The only pool I ever saw used was the Palm Springs Pool. This is in the back, and is covered and heated.

The La Playa pools (Midship), were mostly filled, but were netted over in the evenings.

I used the LaPlaya pool in the late afternoon the day we were in Key West on our Dec. 12-21 sailing. Had it all to myself. The outdoor pools were used occasionally on the warmer days of the cruise. Radio's cruise had unseasonably cool temps even in the warmer ports.

I loved the Mercury and sailing out of Baltimore so much that I am on hold with my TA as I type booking the 12 Day Eastern Caribbean for Nov. 29.

Radio,

As everyone else did - i enjoyed reading your posts everyday - thank you!

Question for you - we are on the Summit this Saturday and my boyfriend is a real estate agent and will need to access the internet probably as often if not more than you did.

What plan did you get on the ship? Did you always have to use the computers on the ship or did you have your own laptop with you and access in the room (but had to pay the ships rates for access)?

I am not very savvy regarding WiFi - so bear with me ;) asking the questions for him so he can stay connected on our cruise.

Thanks so much for your help and advice regarding this!!

Karen
