What is the latest time you can disembark?

We are going on the IOS in March and unfortunately our flight home isn't until 3:30 pm. What is the latest we can get off the ship. We don't want to spend all day in the airport? Thanks.

Usually everyone is off the ship by about 9:45 am. This has been the case on most of my cruises as the crew needs to prepare for the onslaught of passengers to embark within a few hours of clearing the ship.

They want the ship cleared of old passengers by 10am....you will probably be hustled off way before that.

Make arrangements for something to do, or see if you can get an earlier flight! Compare the price of an departure day excursion to a day-room at a hotel, to the cost of changing your flight! Pick the least expensive!

Everyone should be off by 10:00 - 10:30.

This is correct..you can stay easily till approx. 10:30..on the INDY as we have done in FLL with no problem...and will also be on her again in Mar for the 8 night Eastern...Enjoy the INDY...she's a favorite....:D

In many ports, the cruise line will offer excursions on the last day with the tour ending at the airport. I know they do this in San Juan. Our trip was booked thru RCCL website and there's a link there to the various tours offered on our cruise. I would check and see if there's something there for your cruise.

If not, you get off of the ship by say 10 AM and then you get a cab to the airport. You'd need to be there by 1:30 or 2 anyway, so either go early and check the bags then have a cab take you someplace and bring you back later or just hang out.

The last day is always the worst! I don't want to leave at dark-thirty, but I also don't want to waste a day just waiting around for the plane!

This may have only applied to our last cruise (it was Greek Isles out of Venice on Splendor so it may have just been for that port) but they did offer a late departure (it was extra $$$$ pp) where you could still use the pool and the public rooms until sometime in the early afternoon.

We've also booked a later flight out of FLL and then seen what we can do for standby on an earlier flight to get home instead of sitting at the airport.

As PP said you can book the local port excursion w/ airport drop off or rent a car for the day and spend some time at the beach.

We would love to change to an earlier flight but it's like $1000 more for 3 people to go on JetBlue's 11 am flight from FLL to IAD. They have earlier flights that go thru NY but would get to DC later than we will if we wait.

Hi suzan99..Don't do it..Not worth it..The 11am flight is O.K but not at that increase is cost.... Why rush....Don't get off the ship until about 10-10:30 by the time you get thru customs, get your luggage, stand in line to get a taxi (and it will be long) arrive at the airport check in...You will find that the time will go by very quickly..Enjoy your cruise....
