grosk063 Posted January 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2010 Hi folks, What's the LATEST they allow you to stay on board at the end of your cruise? We're on the Valor coming into Miami, and don't have a flight out of FLL until later in the afternoon. Thinking we can nurse our hangovers and get a good breakfast in the morning before we head out back to reality. Thanks in advance!
firefly333 Posted January 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2010 Usually, 9:30 or 10 am by then they will be pushing you off the ship. They will call you even before that to come somewhere ... out of your cabin.
scperk Posted January 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2010 We have stayed on at late as 9:30 then they started announcing "We know who's on board so don't make us come and get you".....LOL....They want the boat cleared so they can clear customs and start re-boarding the next cruise.....Dennis

I would love to stay on board, but I really try to think of those sitting in the terminal at 10 a.m. like I usually do waiting to get on. The longer I'm on, the longer they have to wait. Curt Jerome Wild Posted January 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2010 Hi folks,What's the LATEST they allow you to stay on board at the end of your cruise? We're on the Valor coming into Miami, and don't have a flight out of FLL until later in the afternoon. Thinking we can nurse our hangovers and get a good breakfast in the morning before we head out back to reality. Thanks in advance! It totally depends on how well you've made friends with your Cabin Steward during the cruise. I befriend all of my Stewards on every cruise - and they KNOW that I sleep in, and they do not wake me up. I have already arranged with them to let me sleep in until the last possible minute, and leave my cabin to clean last. When they've done all the other cabins, and I'm the last one - they knock and let me know it's time to go. This is great, especially when the ship docks late due to weather, customs delays, security problems - whatever. While everyone else is waiting in line for hours all morning, I'm sleeping in and enjoying Room Service I ordered late the last night, and cold pizza I brought down from the Lido. Then I mosey off the ship, after all the cattle and lines. Takes about 5 minutes at that point from cabin to curb. The earliest I've had to debark the ship is 10 AM, the latest (due to a long wait for weather and customs problems) was 12:30 PM! After a lifetime of cruising, I just simply don't do the early morning stress on that last day. If I can't get a later flight, then I stay over the next day. No rushing "I have to catch my flight" scramble for me. I leave that to the amateurs.

SMSACE6 Posted January 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2010 I also make friends with my cabin steward, and tip him or her nicely the last night of the cruise. I have always been able to stay in my stateroom until about 9am or so. They have never bothered me about it. :)

As for me, I really dont care but I am just waiting for somebody to post "people who disregard the rules feel like they can do whatever they want are feel entitled, and they not nice people" and . "just think if everyone did that" or "how rude because the people boarding will not be able to get to their rooms becausde of people like you"
Jay B Posted January 12, 2010 #11 Share Posted January 12, 2010 We had the last numbered tags on our luggage on the Legend and were asked nicely by the room steward to vacate our room at 9:30 - "I'm sorry to tell you that your cruise is over". As we were leaving the room, our luggage tag numbers were called over the loud speaker.
LambKnuckles Posted January 13, 2010 #12 Share Posted January 13, 2010 I've been the last off the CONQUEST... they said NOW!!! OFF!!! It was 10:15 on Sunday... They ask you to vacate you cabins about 8:30 so the room stewards can start geting them ready for the next pax... I've also been B2B -- and saw the last ones off and then around 10:45 we were escorted off and then back on!!!
