Is samana gonna be ok??

Hi, we will be stopping at samana on our up coming cruise in march and I apologize in advance if this is a worn topic, but I would like to know if the recent earthquake will have affected samana??

I'm guessing it was unaffected. I'm just glad we were there 2 days before the earthquake, not the day of...

Be sure to read up on threads of Samana before sailing. Unless one books a shore excursion, it's not recommended at all.

I was on the January 4th sailing of the Noordam and was not expecting much of our port call in Samana. I booked a tour that HAL offered called Panoramic Sanama and was quite pleased with it. It allowed us to see a large amount of the peninsula and included a couple of stops in villages that gave us time to browse and people watch. The guide did a very good job in making the tour interesting. My travel companion and I were pleased with the tour. The countryside is lush and we returned to the ship with a more favorable impression of the port than we expected.
