hi, it's my first time posting, and my first cruise coming up...yeah! just wondered if anyone has had their hair cut on the jewel? by who? were you happy with the cut? also do you remember the price? and are there ever coupons on board for these services? thanks for your answers;)

Yes... had a special service that was offered for shave, haircut and head, hands, arm and neck massage for about $89....

 

I remember that the haircut was well done... Can't remember the name of the associate (two years ago)...

I think just a haircut is about $35 plus tip but does seem to vary from ship to ship. If it were me I'd get one before I go at your regular barber for $10.

My wife uses the Spa to blow out her hair sometimes. She uses a local stylist in Brooklyn heights and would never allow someone else to cut it. they do an ok(just) job on blowing it out IMO.

I am not going on the Jewel until April but FWIW I am a hairstylist and I always have my hair cut or styled every time I cruise (#6 on Norwegian) and I have always gotten a great cut or blowout. Not cheap but over the top either.

 

Treat yourself....They ladies have always been very nice and I always got comps on the cut/style.

A woman who used to catch my commute bus with me got her hair colored on a Princess cruise, and it looked like black shoe polish. :eek: Sorta been afraid to venture into any ship's salon since seeing her.

my son's SO had hers cut on the Jewel. The guy who did it was very good. She has short hair - actually very short at the time because she was just 10 weeks out from doing 'shave for a cure' for the Leukemia fund here in OZ so it was looking really ratty. He did a fabulous job on it. :D mummsie

Wow, that's cheaper than it costs at home here, but I'd never get a cut without a referral (like noticing someone's cut over time, and asking where they go).
