Athens flights back to the West Coast

The only one stop flights from Athens back to San Diego leave Athens at 11:15AM. The Westerdam is supposed to dock at 7:00AM. Anyone know if it's possible to make an 11:15AM flight. It's a weekday.

Agree with CruiserBruce that maybe, IF, you could get lucky and make it. Potentially!!! BUT, reality is that the time of the ship docking and when you and your luggage get off of the ship are two totally different things. It's probably an hour from the port to the airport desk for check-in, etc. That does not allow any or much time for time to get a cab, any traffic delays, etc. You'd be traveling through the heart of Athens at 8 am, kind like at rush hour, etc. AGREE 100% that Athens is a super wonderful city and you can see and enjoy lots there in that one day. That plan gives you charming and historic Athens, plus not having to worry.

Been to Athens before? Here are just a couple of previews on the Plaka and Arcropolis. Both are super great and right close to each other.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

At night in Plaka! Lots of fun, food and shopping there:

Why worry about making it to airport....just stay over one nite or go later in day.....it takes a good hour or more to get off ship and then have to get to airport 2 hrs, or more ahead of time.

Love the photos above,thanks....Athens not one of my favorite cities, but sure worth seeing the history there. A little to hectic for me,,,,traffic,loudness,etc....but worth an extra day,for sure;)

THANKS for the nice comments on the photos from our friend in sunny and warmer Florida! Getting another 6-8" of snow in Central Ohio. Schools closed, etc.

Agree 100% with your view that most of Athens is very average, at best, and fairly marginal. What's great, like the Acropolis and Plaka and National Museum are super wonderful and World Class. We stayed at the AVA Hotel right next to the Plaka and didn't have to battle the rest of large, large urban Athens. Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
