Ship Time vs. Local Time on Solstice Caribbean...

Hi there,

Trying to determine what time we actually get into Grand Cayman...as I'm booking a shore excursion. Celebrity is publishing a 7am - 4pm time in port.

My question is, does Celebrity change their clocks to reflect shore time...or do they remain on ship time (which I'm assuming is EST)?

The confusion really comes down to daylight savings. Grand Cayman doesn't adjust their clocks...so a 7am arrival might actually be a 6am arrival Cayman time.

Am I making any sense? I think I'm confusing myself...:o

Whether or not to change ship time is at the Captain's discretion. Usually they do change, but not always. So long as you are using a reputable shore excursion guide/company, they will know when your ship is due in and be waiting for you accordingly.

Okay guys, one more question on this issue.

Would the published brochure time reflect local time or EST?

I'm simply trying to determine if taking an 8am tour (when we are to pull into port at 7am) is feasable.

Thanks again...for some reason, this one is messing with my brain!
