mlredman2 Posted February 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2010 Hi. Does anyone know how long it takes by water taxi to Orient Beach after you're dropped off (Oasis of the Seas). Is it faster to just take a regular taxi? I would appreciate any insight. Thanks.
PeterPan Posted February 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2010 Don't know of any water taxis to Orient Beach. A ground taxi is quick and easy.

The Big Booper Posted February 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2010 The "water taxi" is just a small shuttle ferry that loops around Great Bay from the cruise ship pier to the Phillipsburg downtown pier and Bobby's Marina and then back to the cruise ship pier. Orient Beach is a 25 minute cab ride from the cruise ship pier up the highway. Catch a cab at the cruise ship pier, there are marked sections at the pier cab stands for cabs to the different hotspots.

You will be asked to wait in a staging area, where they will try and get as many people as they can into your taxi (more the better, the cheaper your price will be) You really can't wait for a specific taxi there. Its set up to get as many people out of the pier area as possible as fast as possible....and it works quite will. Just tell the person where you want to go and they will stage you in the area needed. As said before there really isn't a true water taxi that will get you to Orient. Land based is 20-30 minute ride. There are always several taxi's waiting to get you back to the pier, so no need to worry about that!

PeterPan Posted February 10, 2010 #10 Share Posted February 10, 2010 Depending on how many people are in the taxi, it is about $6.00 per person, up to about $9.00 per person. We had 6 people in the taxi last week, and it was $7.00 per person.
