Flying into Miami, cruising out of Ft Lauderdale

riddle

I know a lot of folks do this but we have not...flying into Miami day before cruise. Want to get transportation to Hilton Marina in Ft Lauderdale for Saturday night. What is best option for transportation for 2? Also, I assume we would take a Hilton shuttle to the pier as I know it is close.

Upon return, what is best option to get back to Miami airport? Our flight leaves at 12:50 p.m.

We are doing the same thing for our cruise in April/ Flying into MIA the day before and staying at the Embassy Suites on 17th and flying out of MIA after the cruise. We looked at a few options to get from MIA to the hotel. Cabs appeared to run $70-$80. Looked at something like supershuttle which was a little cheaper, but we wanted to go straight to the hotel without having to stop at other places. We ended up booking a town car through a limo service. Cost is $94, so we figured comparable to a cab, better service, waiting for you at the airport, etc. So we are going this route.

As for our return, we will book the shuttle offered through Princess from the pier to MIA. Cheap and easy. Should get you to MIA in plenty of time for your flight. If you do not want to the cruiselines bus, a cab or limo service would also work. Just more expensive.

For a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale, is it better to stay a precruise night in Fort Lauderdale or Miami ? We are flying into Miami from San Francisco. We have not been in this part of the USA before, only west coast. Thanks.

I think that if you have time to enjoy an afternoon and evening in Florida that you should stay at South Beach...it's really unique! If you are flying in later and just need a place to sleep, an airport/cruiseport hotel in Fort Lauderdale would be fine. Fort Lauderdale beachfront is also fun but tiny compared to South Beach.
