chachi Posted June 7, 2010 #26 Share Posted June 7, 2010 I like it, but my sister hates it. Everytime she cruises with me she takes a bite to see if she likes it any better, but she never does.
lowbass Posted June 7, 2010 #27 Share Posted June 7, 2010 My wife had it every night on our Destiny cruise(5/27-5/31). She said it was great every time she had it, no complaints. I on the other hand decide I'll try the Bitter an Blanc that a lot of people talk about and IMO, it was one of the WORST deserts I have ever ate, ANY PLACE! It's nothing more than dry Bread pudding with a little(and I do mean little) dark and white pudding poured on it. It was very, very bad.
SeaTeach Posted June 8, 2010 #28 Share Posted June 8, 2010 carnival's Warm Melting Choc. cake ??? I thought it was disgusting ! gritty and gooey . Never had it and don't want it. I don't like chocolate but will struggle through it if piled high with nuts.
BroncosFan2010 Posted June 9, 2010 #29 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Never had it and don't want it. I don't like chocolate but will struggle through it if piled high with nuts. You will love the Serenade then... I had a hard time getting my chocolate fix, but many of the other desserts are decent.
liberty0109 Posted June 10, 2010 #30 Share Posted June 10, 2010 I am with I do not like it at all! DH likes it occasionally with ice cream mixed in it to cut the richness. We are BIG fans of the Grand Marnier Soufle. We each had two the night we had it which was only one night. Other wise it was the spa desserts or cheese plate for me. dane225 Posted June 16, 2010 #31 Share Posted June 16, 2010 I love chocolate, but I am not a fan of it at all. I agree with some of the previous posters that it is very inconsistent.
lizie1155 Posted December 4, 2010 #32 Share Posted December 4, 2010 OMG! Hubby and I have to eat one every night in the MDR...:D
jpg1747 Posted December 5, 2010 #33 Share Posted December 5, 2010 I ordered it once on my first Carnival cruise and 4 cruises later I've never been tempted to order it again. There are too many other better ways to have chocolate.

SeaTeach Posted January 26, 2011 #35 Share Posted January 26, 2011 You are not alone. I don't care for chocolate desserts but will eat a small piece of dark chocolate with 85% cocoa content for health reasons. Come to think of it, I don't like sugary desserts of any flavor. 5waldos Posted January 26, 2011 #36 Share Posted January 26, 2011 I was going to say yes- you are alone in the world of non likers, but with so many posts saying they don't- guess it was the wrong answer I do like it, but not every night. Don't think I'd want to make it for 400 though.
ferretface Posted January 28, 2011 #37 Share Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) Just off the Liberty and ordered the WCMC the 1st night in the MDR. It was very runny, noy good at all. Then had ut again at the Chef's Table and it was perfectly cooked! Like posted earlier, there's no consistency. But I've had it undercooked more often than overcooked. Rare skittl1321 Posted January 30, 2011 #38 Share Posted January 30, 2011 My husband ordered this the first day of our cruise and raved about it. I ordered it the next day and it was a completely cooked (maybe even overcooked) cake- no melting to it at all. The chocolate was too bitter for me, so I only ate two bites. A few days later there was no other dessert I wanted, so I tried it again. It was a little meltier, but it was too rich for me, so not my favorite. My husband had a bite and said it wasn't nearly as good as the one he had the first day. They must make so many that they are hit or miss. Mine have been miss for sure. djcass4199 Posted February 3, 2011 #39 Share Posted February 3, 2011 I've never tried this on my 2 carnival cruises, but this one coming up I might, since everyone talks about it. I'll probably just try it one night. The fact that it's 500 calories kind of scares me a little lol
amancuso Posted February 26, 2011 #40 Share Posted February 26, 2011 My husband had it everynight lol. I personally didn't like it.
30038599 Posted March 8, 2014 #41 Share Posted March 8, 2014 I'm not a fan of chocolate but every night I seen so many people having it . So I decided to try it. I was surprise that I enjoyed it. I couldn't finish it cause the chocolate was to overwhelming for me. Glad I tried it at least once. :D
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted April 9, 2014 #42 Share Posted April 9, 2014 The timing and oven temperature for that sort of dessert is critical. One minute too long and it's no longer gooey in the middle, one minute too little and it's still too raw. Ditto oven temperature - too cool, or too many servings put in the oven at one time, will result in undercooked cake. Too hot and you lose the gooey middle. Unfortunately, unless it's perfect it's just another boring chocolate dessert.
Wendy,Williams Posted April 11, 2014 #43 Share Posted April 11, 2014 No way! I don't like it either. My husband loves it and eats it most nights when we cruise. I am not a big fan of sweets anyway but I DON'T like the melting cake at all.
Name Of The Game Posted April 12, 2014 #44 Share Posted April 12, 2014 I love chocolate and it was too rich for me. My whole mouth was coated in chocolate and I just wanted a glass of milk.
Throwdownmyace Posted April 13, 2014 #45 Share Posted April 13, 2014 You can order it to the gooey level that you want and order a fruit plate, dip the fruit into the chocolate, and ice cream and coffee...and some cabernet... What were we talking about?
OCruisers Posted April 13, 2014 #46 Share Posted April 13, 2014 carnival's Warm Melting Choc. cake ??? . I'm a Type II diabetic so just don't eat desserts very often at all. Because I'd heard so much about the warm melting chocolate cake on Carnival, I got my DH to order it so I could have a bite. One bite was all I took or wanted. DH didn't like it either. LuLu ~~~

sherilyn70 Posted April 14, 2014 #48 Share Posted April 14, 2014 I loved it and ordered it almost every night. I got the entire table hooked on the as well. However I did notice discrepancies in each night, sometimes drier and sometimes wetter. Sometimes 1 scoop of ice cream and others 2. It really needs 2 scoops to balance out the sweetness.
