barnsey1802 Posted March 4, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2010 Hi Frankim, We have been on the Pacific Dawn twice, & the first time we were on Plaza deck.P177 We had calm seas on our trip & the ship hardly seemed like it was moving. If you are likely to get sea sick Plaza deck midship is you best bet. Hope this helps Deidre.
subaru94 Posted March 4, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2010 Hi The Dawn is a much bigger ship than the Sun my husband gets terrible sea sickness and we have found midship and not too high up in the ship is best. You will love the Pacific Dawn.

Many Thanks I have to agree with the previous posters and say midship, and a lower deck is the best for someone who suffers from seasickness.:) Before you go on this cruise, talk to your doctor or chemist and get your self some medication. I suffer from any sort of travel sickness, and was terriabely sick on our first couple of cruises. It was recommended that I take Phenergan tablets, and providing I remember not to miss a tablet  I feel great. I find by about 10.30 -11.00pm I am ready for bed, but it sure is better than being sick!!!;)

I get sea sick, but if someone offered us a suite I would grab it with both hands. Just buy some Avomine from your local chemist and be prepared, but it is most likely that you won't need it. By the way, P & O find that Avomine is the most effective seasickness remedy and they sell it at the Purser's Desk on the ship. Go and enjoy your suite. golfer76 Posted June 7, 2011 #10 Share Posted June 7, 2011 Can't help you with the snorkeling in the Whitsundays, but I can assure you the Dawn should be more stable than the Sun due to its larger size. We sailed on the Dawn a few months ago out to the South Pacific...weather was perfect and we felt very little movement throughout the ship, including our cabin located on Dolphin Deck no.8. At this time of the year I would expect the weather to be fairly stable up our Qld coastline...no cyclones. Hopefully all will be well for you.:) Keep the ship nice and tidy for me when we sail on her next month please!! :D
