Has anyone some recomandation on where to stay a few days before a cruise out from San Juan - beachfron location wold be nice :)

If you like the beach area, Condado is a good place to be - we've stayed at Caribe Hilton, Conrad and Marriott. Prefer the Caribe Hilton - easy to get into Old San Juan for dinner or shopping, close to the pier, beautiful facilities with a nice beach area.

I agree with Melanie regarding the Condado area. The Caribe Hilton has its own beach. I like the Marriott Stellaris a little better because it has a variety of restaurants, Walgreen's, etc. within walking distance. Bus stops practically in front of the hotel that takes you to Old San Juan.

Isla Verde is supposed to have better beach so the Intercontinental hotel is there. There is also a Courtyard Marriott on the beach in Isla Verde. Don't confuse with Miramar which is the business district.

Hotels are pricey so I either use Priceline or stay on points.

If you are coming for a few days, check out homeaway.com. We're used them to find a great place in San Juan and for extended stays it is a lot cheaper than a hotel. You are basically renting someone's condo or house. It's safe and great.

We would highly reccomend the Marriot in Condado. Beautiful beach, pools, swim up bar and a casino in-house. We were very happy with the room, service and hospitality. A very quick taxi ride to Olde San Juan. Also, while there, do not miss the evening walking tour of Olde San Juan. Beautiful and informative.
