Can someone tell me what's up with the giant hand. I have seen pics of it before but usually in the bridge windows. Is it some sort of communication from the ship?

I can't say for every ship..but last week on the Carnival Pride we took the ship tour and when we were on the bridge we asked about the hands..they said that when they were doing the Panama Canal for the relocation they didn't want to feel left out on the bridge because everyone else was on the decks and waving..so they made those giant hands so people would see them waving as well.

This one is probably the best pic I have ever taken on a cruise... Aboard Valor leaving Grand Cayman

Gotta love third world country airports... Check out Baggage claim at the airport on Ambergris Cay Belize..

This is so pretty!

It was the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 waterproof. I had it in HDR shooting mode and the color mode was Happy. I really like this camera and took a lot of pics with it when my Canon 40D would have been fogged up.

Those are great shots! I've been wanting a new point and shoot so I'm going to have to look into this one! Thanks!

If you cruise a lot and need a waterproof I recommend it. If you don't need the waterproof feature you can probably get an equivalent Panasonic P&S for cheaper that may have better photo features. I got mine on Amazon and they had a good price on it. Some places were wanting a lot more for them.

It is crew members doing it. I imagine it is a way to pass the time. They probably enjoy doing it and give everyone seeing it something to talk about.

I have a Aquapak case for my camera now but the casse is a little too big and I have to make sure that the black ring for the lens isn't in the way when I am taking pictures. I use it when I go on all vacations and for trips to the waterpark so I think a waterproof camera would be a good investment for me!

Well I think you will love this camera, it also takes HD video which came in handy to video my 2y.o. nephew dancing with the waiters in the MDR:D. Just make sure to not put your finger over the lens because it is at the top corner (got me a few times:p)

Wow, some really great photos. Love this thread. I'd love if anyone would include the model camera they used. I'm still looking for a new travel point and shoot.
