Gem NYC question

I am picking up passengers disembarking the Gem on Saturday. What time will they be getting off?

there really is no answer to this. Have a cell phone and have them call you. It depends on so many things. They ship docks at around 8 am. The walk off with their own luggage normally start at around 9 but it can be later. the ship is not always on time. If they have their luggage taken off for them it normally starts at around 9:30 to 10 am for the priority embarking people. and then everyone else gets off. By 11 am most of the people are off.. but it can vary at the whim and caprice of the CBP people....

Sid, the Gem has been running with a scheduled 9am arrival...at least that was the case a couple of weeks ago when I was on it.

Sid:

Welcome home. We're fine, thanks. That South America itinerary is a terrific cruise. We had a great time when we did it a few years ago.

To the OP: Sorry about the off topic digression.

Last Saturday, they had trouble getting the gangways set for some reason. At 9:50 they called the first color after the self disembarkation passengers. We were on the line as soon as the first color was called, had a porter help us with our bags and through customs, and were at the upstairs platform at 10:20 waiting for our car service.

I'm going to call the ship and tell them to do the self disembarkation bec they are getting a train to Massachusetts that leaves Penn Station at 11:30; it's the only one of the day, so they can't miss it.
