Do u have any idea as to the size on vista 8231? or the position of the bed?

The same applies to cabin 7354. The deck plans do not show it correctly but the balcony is larger and definitely angled, the one on the left of it has a standard size balcony. When we booked this cabin it was a 2C category, therefore, we got it very cheap, it has now been re-categorized as a 2B and costs $130 pp more than a 2C or 2D on the Continental deck. It was not a long walk to the midship elevators at all, maybe around 30 seconds, and as I mentioned the location for us was great. You really can't judge a balcony by the deck plans.

Perhaps this picture will help:

Great picture Elena. Thank you. We are booked in 7305 and chose it for the larger balcony. You can clearly see on your picture that it is not as drawn on the deck plans but it is larger than the ones alongside it.

FWIW - for anyone looking for the latest cabin spreadsheet from librarylady, the *easiest* way to find it is to click on the number that is in the "replies" column next to the thread title (it's currently 927). That will give you a list of all the people who have replied in the thread. Find librarylady's name (currently she's the #2 poster in the thread, so it's right there) and click on the number in the "posts" column next to her name. That will give you a list of just HER posts in the thread, most recent first, and she always starts the post with "attached is the latest update to the spreadsheet" or something along those lines. Click on the link for that post (next to what looks like a sheet of paper) and that will take you right to the last update.

MUCH easier than trying to search the thread.

My DH and I want to book a cruise on the Equinox for next spring. We are interested in the least (or one of the least) expensive balconies for this itinerary because we will not be spending much time in the stateroom. Not Concierge, not Aqua, just a plain balcony.

Can anyone recommend a good deck and area for one of the lower balcony categories and the name of that category? I understand that one category is obstructed and looks right out at the lifeboats, but don't know which it is. I can do a search on bed position type once I have a category.

Thank you so much! :)

We stayed in 6210 on Equinox. Loved it. Mid ship, angled large balcony, partially obstructed - life boat to your right below. Used to be cat 7, now it's 2D. We booked the same cabin on Silhuette next year.

  • 6 months later...

Cabin 6240 on hump, starboard side so not above smoking area... has anyone stayed in this area ? Any issues with being close to Promenade deck , noise, or being near life boats re: privacy or noise?

Thanks!
