PHOTOS & reviews - Repo 8 days Southern Caribbean cruise - Enchantment OTS (4/11/10)

Recommended Posts

Saturday and Sunday were both Days at Sea, so plenty of activities to chose from on the RCI ship Enchantment of the Seas.

At 1:30pm, there was the recognition of the belly flop! The competitors made a splash by the Poolside (Deck 9) during the BELLY FLOP COMPETITION!

Thought the dude from Florida and the one from Argentina tied originally for the top price, the CD got the final results wrong...

so the Florida man became third (bronze medal), Eduardo (Mexico) was second (silver medal) and the first place went to Alfredo (Argentina)

Saturday and Sunday were both Days at Sea, so plenty of activities to chose from on the RCI ship Enchantment of the Seas.

Saturday evening - formal dinner and another GREAT show starting at 8pm in the Centrum area (Deck 4,5,6):

CARNIVAL PARTY (VILLAGE PEOPLE)

This was by far one of the highlights of this cruise (in addition to the Argentinian Tango show): great costumes, music and plenty of fun!!!

For ladies, it was a preview to the "Ladies night" ("Solo para mujeres" show) - show that took place later that evening in the Viking Crown Lounge (Deck 11), starting 11:15pm (show featured some of the staff that participated in the Village people show- Carnival Party: the CD Rico, Abel and Cristian).

The following photos are posted courtesy of C. (thanks one more time):

Village-people18.jpg

Village People is a concept disco group formed in United States in 1977, well known for their on-stage costumes as well as their catchy tunes and suggestive lyrics.

Original members were: Victor Willis (police officer), Felipe Rose (Native American), Randy Jones (cowboy), Glenn Hughes (biker), David Hodo (construction worker) and Alex Briley (GI).

For the release of "In the Navy", Willis and Briley appeared as an admiral and a sailor, respectively. Originally created to target disco's primarily gay audience by featuring stereotypical gay fantasy personas[1], the band's popularity quickly brought them into mainstream.

Village-people19.jpg

Village People scored a number of disco and dance hits, including their trademark "Macho Man", "Go West", the classic club medley of "San Francisco (You've Got Me) / In Hollywood (Everybody is a Star)", "In the Navy", "Can't Stop the Music", and their biggest hit, "Y.M.C.A.".

In September 2008, the group received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame[2]. They have sold upwards of 50 million records world-wide[3].

The Sailor

In the Navy

Yes, you can sail the seven seas

In the Navy

Yes, you can put your mind at ease

In the Navy

Come on now, people, make a stand

In the Navy, in the Navy

Can't you see we need a hand

In the Navy

Come on, protect the motherland

In the Navy

Come on and join your fellow man

In the Navy

Come on people, and make a stand

In the Navy, in the nNvy, in the Navy (in the Navy)!
