jerseygirl007 Posted April 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2010 We are leaving the ship early in the AM to make a 0950 flight to Paris and on to New York. What is the best way to get to the airport from the port and how early do we need to leave the Insignia. Thanks.
Marebear Posted April 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2010 We arranged for a private taxi early in the morning to pick us up and take us to the airport.
Cheesi Posted April 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2010 We arranged for a private car service to pick us up. We had a VERY EARLY flight and as soon as we walked off the ship, the driver was there waiting for us. The ride to the airport was about 30 - 45 min if I remember correctly. Here's who we used - http://www.venice-limousine.com/
Rare Acrusa Posted April 25, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2010 Why don'nt you use Oceania transfer. You would not have to worry if someone is there to pick you up. We used there transfer from Athens to airort we had a 10 45am flight to New York.We docked at 4 Am was off the ship by 6 and at the airport in plenty of time.Oceania is very good at transfers. No worrys. Because they are much more expensive than arranging your own transportation which is just as reliable.

sandrewm3884 Posted May 1, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 1, 2010 My wife and I just disembarked in Venice from the Regatta. We walked with all of our luggage to Piazza Le Roma where we got on the Number 5 bus to the Airport. It was very easy and was included in the price of our Vaporetta 24 hour ticket. We are only 26 years old so it was not a problem for us. Also,I think the ship had a very favorable docking position. I would reccomend reserving a car on the internet that can pick you up at the port. There are taxis and a limo station at Piazza le Roma if you want to try your luck reserving one on your first day in port. Definitely don't go with Oceania. They could buy the buses for the prices they charge.

sandrewm3884 Posted May 1, 2010 #9 Share Posted May 1, 2010 We were in Maritima. It was about a 10-15 minute walk.
