Are there Coupon Books on Freedom Class?

Recommended Posts

I have read a few threads over the months on a coupon book you can purchase at a port talk onboard that also has a sticker included for bogo drink of the day. I haven't seen any posts confirming that this is available on the freedom class of ships particularly The Freedom of the Seas. Has anyone sailed on freedom or freedom class recently and can confirm this? We are a group 4 all age 25 and if this is true this would be worth the price of the coupon book alone just for the drinks. Also when and where is the port talk?

As a Diamond member on the Liberty 2 weeks ago, I got a coupon book in my cabin. There was one for 20% off a spa treatment and BOGO on a glass of wine. Other than that the book was useless.

We were just on Adventure - the coupon books have gotten pretty cheap - no free anything, even at the Platinum level. We used the BOGO glass of wine coupon from each book and that was it. No more free cover coupon at Johnny Rockets, either.

One night before the show in the theater they offered BOGO on a new drink (the "Why Not?"), which we took advantage of.

Enjoy the Freedom - great ship ... sailed her twice.

I think you are all thinking of the wrong book.

I was on Liberty April 11th, which is a Freedom class ship. The Wife and I went to the Port Shopping show to specifically to get the book. It cost 25 dollars, and with it you get a sticker (1 sticker for one card) that will allow you to buy BOGO Drinks of the days.

The book has coupons in it for free stuff at certain shops, plus coupons for savings on bigger purchases. We had already done the route we where going on so our goal was to go get all the free charms and other things that was offered in the book. It was kinda fun. Plus the daily drinks are tasty.

I totally agree. Just got off the Mariner of the Seas and the coupon book was left in it's original condition. We're Gold Crown and Anchor members. No BOGO, book is useless.

I know you said it was useless but what was in it if you remember?? Just courius as one mans useless is another mans gold....LOL

Yes, I have gotten caught in the trap of the "free stuff". One time I had to take a cab to the jewelry store to get a free pendant which turned out to be the size of a pin head. Then took the cab back for a total of $14 cab fare for a useless pendant.

It is a bit of a scam I know, but it was fun. The Del Sol bag is nice, although obviously cheap, and the charms must have cost upwards of 2 cents, but the storys we had to tell of our adventures was worth it. Nothing like going into a Rug store and having the guy almost convince you that "Yes, even though I have no wood floors, I really do need some rugs. I can put them on my wall." This is probably why they get in the book. It must be worth a few extra sales.

Rmunson72906, I am glad I could confirm. Does any one know if there is a similar book for European ports? or is it just a Caribbean thing?

Just tossed my unused book in the pail. It had:

15% of any one spa or salon service;

purchase any bingo package and receive one free stop of 3 jackpot bingo cards;

buy any wine by the glass and get a second one free;

purchase any bottle of wine and receive a 15% discount on the 2nd bottle of wine over $50 USD;

15% off the purchase of any 8x10 white lifestyle portrait photo;

2 free 'spin to win' in the casino;

2 $5.00 USD match play casino certificate;

$7.50 USD internet credit;

10% off any RCI logo merchandise purchase;

art auction bidding credit;

50% discount on any Seattle's best coffee beverage;

2 for 1 milkshake at Johnny Rockets;

purchase any size temp. airbrush tattoo and receive a free sparkling glitter upgrade - a $3.00 savings;

purchase any wine flight and receive a 15% discount on a second wine flight of equal or lesser value;

$100 off any 'crown of light' diamond jewelry;

$5 off any laundry charge of $25 or more;

free commemorative wilderness express souvenir glass onboard the wilderness express railcards

So as you can see - pretty worthless. Now back into the trash.

to answer your question about where to buy this book. Check your daily cruise compass and it will tell you where on the ship the port talk will be held. sometimes it is in the theater, sometimes in one of the lounges; u just have to check.

IMO the port shopping book is not worth the money they charge for it. Loads of coupons you don't use. The "free" stuff is not worth the scavenger hunt to pick it up.

We agree. We purchased the book once, but trying to find most of the stores was taking way too much time. We are on vacation to relax and have fun, not run all over town looking for this store or that.
