Gugi Posted May 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2010 Can we order bottles of spirits from our cabin steward when on board?:D
ColumbiaSC Posted May 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2010 Yes, Isobel, you may purchase liquor by the bottle by asking your Steward on the Queen Mary 2. The cost is reasonable. We can discuss other closely-related matters or alternatives (which I won't name directly on this forum) on the leisurely jaunt down to Fort Lauderdale from New York. Lord Kay of Shandon. hansol1966 Posted May 8, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2010 Yes you can or you can "smuggle" your own tipple of choice on board, obviously taking the risk of it being detected by the razor sharp (or uncaring) capabilities of Southamptons sentinels. Gugi Posted May 8, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted May 8, 2010 I might be tempted to take a bottle on board but since I will be on board for 47 days one bottle might not be enough.
capnpugwash Posted May 8, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 8, 2010 I have never had any problem in taking a reasonable amount on board so a few bottles of your favourite will be no problem, just don't rub their noses in it.

mcdermott Posted May 9, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2010 I might be tempted to take a bottle on board but since I will be on board for 47 days one bottle might not be enough. We were on for 42 days we carried 60 bottles of wine at different ports on board and no-one bothered I would also add that we also had a large bar bill this wine was consumed in our cabin and obviously we like to sit in the bars and we paid for our drinks there
imperialwizard Posted May 9, 2010 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2010 We enquired about a bottle of bacardi rum for our cabin from the pursers desk. He said,it may be expensive....then quoted us $198!!!Needless to say we didnt bother. Hope you have more luck,or have less expensive taste in spirits!! We nearly got caught out last year - reinforcing the motto "ask the price before ordering" - what was less than £40 on P&O (2 different spirits), would have cost in the region on $160 on QV. Underwatr Posted September 13, 2010 #13 Share Posted September 13, 2010 Spirits on QM2 were $40-50/liter for the most part, and included 6 cans of your choice of soda. Higher than shore prices, but not all that bad (especially when you consider that the price for the 6 sodas approaches $12).
