Princess was in at #3 with one or their ships. It was a little disappointing to see Celebrity as a whole drop this year. Last year it was 7 or the top 9.

They list the top 30 ships as voted on by thier readers. From memory

Celebrity had 7

Royal Caribbean had 8

Carnival had 1

Disney had 2

I don't remember the rest. If I remember I'll grab the list and update the counts.

Correction up top on the numbers - Horizon was in 10th place in the Medium size ships.

Zenith was 16th.

Here is the medium list from th poll.

You also have to take into account that the top lines her are way upscale lines.

And HAL is just gods waiting room at sea.

I was on the Zaandam and Horizon recently.

Felt Horizon was a better ship in most ways.

Looking back at the 2003 poll results vs 2004.

Celebrity had 5 top 10 ships 2003.

Now in 2004 7 of the top 10.

Celebrity only has 7 large ships. May tell you something.

HAL has a lot of the medium size ships that Zenith and Horizon fall into.

Conde Nast does annual reader polls that come our in January and February editions.

The January edition lists the cruiselines as a whole.

The February edition list the individual ship by size.

The 2004 list came out in Feb 2004 with 7 X ships in the top 9. This years edition has 7 in the top 11. It's understanable X would slip a little as other lines have come out with new ships and we are all still waiting for something new from X other than ships being pulled away from us.

As a subscriber, I get my magazine about a week before it hits the newsstands

That is why Celebrity needs some more ships. Think if their ships made all those numbers, except for Zenith and Horizon, which are being transfered out, because of no balconies and not enough space for the new thngs that cruisers are looking for...speciality rest. (ok don't shoot me, but after being on one small ship the Empress...never so sick in my life, I have sworn off small ships)

Just a question:

Conde Nast readers rate the 4 M class ship overall in the following order:

1. Infinity

2. Constellation

3. Summit

4. Millenium

How does that compare with the views of CC'ers as an order?

Can only speak for Infinity and Summit so far (Connie coming up in April), but I'd leave those two in the order shown. Food and crew, waiters and stateroom attendants good in both cases, but staff/officers more friendly on Infinity.

just because they had the correct CC bedding & sofa pillows, which made the cruise 110% better than Connie. Crews were equal making us part of their family, so I'd give them 1.5% better than Connie...........

We also had 9201 vs 9140 on Connie with the tiny balcony, but it was an upgrade to CC from 2C so we were not complaining.

9201 - we have that cabin in two weeks on the Millie.

How big is the Balcony? :)

REALLY big. Check the link in my signature block. The interior shots are from a FV cabin next door, but your balcony willl be the same size as what you see here.
