lol I love it!!!!

I will be on Oasis two weeks b4 you, Mike I can't wait. There aren't many cruiseships leaving outta NYC and none that do 3 or 4 days! So I cruise on 8 and 9 days down to the caribbean, I hate dealing with the luggage and airports, but I am willing to brave it in order to see Oasis!

My name is Scott and my entire family are cruiseaholics. The 13 year old is the worst because always asks "When is our next cruise?" The 17 year old wants to know "Where is our next cruise?" The DW always says while on Cruise Critic "I like this cruise."

Me? I just look and say "How much is this cruise?"

I became an addict in 2005 when my sister, a cousin along with her husband and her sister-in-law and myself took a cruise out of Galveston. In fact we stayed out to sea an extra two days before a hurricane closed the port. While I was worried about my house, since the hurricane passed right throught the town I lived in, I could not help but have fun.

I have been hooked ever since.

Hi,

I am addicted to traveling-all forms. Cruising is one of my favorites. I have 2 cruises planned right now, but other kind of trips as well. I am never happy unless I have a trip planned. A bad day is always made better when I have a trip to look forward to!

That must have been a doozy of a cruise! I always wish that something would happen to keep us from docking and the cruise ending but alas all good things come to an end.

My name is Diane and I too am a cruise-aholic.

For twenty years my other half tried his best to get me to try it "just once " - I was always able to resist. Then in a moment of weakness I gave in. All of my fellow addicts you know how this ends.

Happy sailing everyone! :D

Wow! I am delighted to know there are so many.....and I like the terms "cruise addict" and "cruiseaholic" since they seem to have more dignity than "cruise slut."

DH and I took our first cruise on the Radiance in 2005, and he commented that it only took about 8 hours on that first ship for both of us to make the transformation from cruise virgin to cruise slut. (This is defined as a person who is willing to do most anything to cruise, will endure all kinds of travel inconveniences to make it to a port, is willing to spend a lot of time looking for cruise bargains online, makes a lot of calls to the TA looking for discounts, enters weird contests, and always has to have the next one reserved before embarkation on the current one.) I'm thinking cruise addicts and cruiseaholics do the same. Or maybe there are varying degrees of severity with these diagnoses?

We've just barely made Diamond, but we got a late start. I'm so glad to know we're not alone in this obsession!

I could quit cruising at any time ... at least that's what I keep telling myself.

I've said that a few times after dealing with the airlines, but after being home a few weeks I said I can't not ever cruise again. Just can't seem to get enough cruising. We have a long wait for our next cruises, til October.

Hi my name is Allison,

and i caught the cruising bug from my in-laws in 99, loved it so much I went into the travel industry!

I worked 3 seasons with a tour company at the Port of San francisco, checking in passengers for Princess, celebrity, and RCL. it was the most exciting enjoyable job I ever had. Love , love, love, to cruise!

My symptoms include:

1. Talking about cruising to everyone I know

2. Constantly checking the Cruise Critic message boards and reading reviews.

3. Searching the Travel Channel for all of Samantha Brown's cruise shows and others

4. Having a subscription to Cruise Travel magazine

5. Thinking of ways to pay for more cruise vacations with my family

5. Reading the specs on all types of cruise ships and quoting them to friends when they mention various cruise ships.

6. Making lists of things to take on our cruises and sharing with others.

7. I could go on and on....

I do love other vacations (land based), but in my opinion, a cruise is total relaxation for me. My wife and kids love it too, but I am the obsessed one about it! They just humor me and we all have fun!

Does anyone else feel the same way? I am sure you do!
