How Long Have You Thrown The Dice???

Well..MrCO9.. if you know its going to be a 1 hour roll... yes you can make a lot of money. The problem is you never know how long that roll is going to last. Your only hope to to bet each one and parlay your bets as if it is going to be a big roll and catch one but you'll lose more often than you'll win this way. But, still, those long rolls are fun to play!

Give me a 2 hour roll and I'll pay for my house and have enough left to put 2 VERY nice cars in the garage. Longest rolls I've been on a table for were 20 minutes and made several thousand on those.

Jet, when I was a break-in and working at the Golden Gate, we had an hour roll 1 time where the biggest bet at the end of the roll was a $12 6. Got to LOVE rookie players.

Hehe.

You gotta have bankroll, and be willing to bet it, to win big. And you gotta get that hot shooter. Or a series of warm shooters.

About two years ago, I was playing at Casino Royale. $5 with 100x odds. I bought in at $300. Had a shooter with a really hot roll. Lasted a long time. Hitting numbers all over the place. My bet strategy at the time as pass line with some odds and a come bet or two with odds. I wasn't taking FULL odds (i don't have that bankroll). But maybe taking 4x to 5x no matter the number as that was what I was comfortable with. I walked away with over $600. Not a huge win, but it was nice to get a pink chip. :D My friend, who played with me, bought in at the same amount, walked away with over $3000. He just bets bigger. Presses bets. Place bets on more numbers. Plays in the middle.

Its funny because you see other people at the table with like $5 on the line and *maybe* 1x behind it. And there I am with maybe $70 out there. And then my friend with a couple hundy out there.

Good times. And funny when we went to the cage. They had to call in the pink chips. :D

I always play the same way and that is to press my bets. Maybe not a full press each time, but I go up a little each time I'm paid. A $12 6 or 8 goes to $18 then $24 or $30 then $42, $60, $90, $120 or $150, then $180 or $210, $300, $450, $600, $900, $1200 or $1500 etc. 5s and 9s from $10 to $15 or $25 (I LOVER power presses) $35, $50, $75, $100 or $125, $200, $300, $400 or $500, $700, $1000, $1500, $2,000 etc. 4s and 10s from $10 to $25, $50, $75, $125, $200, $300, $500, $1,000, $1500, $2500....

If playing where they offer 20 times odds or more, then $5 come bets go down with $25 odds then $50, $80 on 5 and 9 $75 on even #s, then $100. Once one come bet is maxed out then $10 come bets with $150 then $200 odds etc....

I always play hoping that this shooter is "The 1". I rarely play for more than 1 or 2 shooters. I've already spent 8 ours working on a table that day, I don't want to spend all night playing on 1, unless I catch that mythical hour roll.

I live in Las Vegas, coming here is no big deal to me, getting to a casino is not my 1 vacation per year, it's like a trip to the grocery store for you.

I play the same way by letting the table press my bets.

BUT, here is my problem. Just when I get my bets stacked to $24 (6&8) and $25 (5&9) here comes the damn #7.

Don't get me wrong, I've been in some great games but on average when I get the bets to where I start to make money, here comes the #7.

I would just like to be in an hour roll one time.:D

You and me both. What do you mean by you let the table press your bets?

What I mean is when I get paid, that money is used to press my bets. So the table is paying to press my bets, it's not out of my pocket or off my rack.

Well reporting back since I had the HOT run on the cruise I left for a charter trip down to Biloxi----Didnt have another 2 hr roll but did have a couple of good runs with mine being one of them. ;)

I used to roll long times but like I said got tired of all old grumpy men...But this money making is going to change my mind back real quick!

Good luck to all the players out there and like you say you never know when that roll is going to happen ---keep betting!

O ok, thought maybe it was by consensus of the other players, or maybe the felt "Talked" to you.

I thought he meant that many, many times the dealer knows after a few rolls my way of betting at the table and will look at me (or not)and say PRESS before he pays me. If i say same bet, he pays off. That's why i always leave something for the boys :D when i depart the table and making some bets while the table is rolling.

Help me understand. Newby here.

I was at a table, I had the roll.

I think the point was 5.

I rolled for about 20 rolls. Never hit 5, but never hit 7 either.

Me being new, I thought I was doing OK. Everyone else was getting less than nice. What was wrong with the play? After the other players got cranky with me, I just walked away.

Nothing was wrong with your play. Y'all was playing with a bunch of LOSERS. They were probably playing just the pass line "maybe" with minimum odds with no other bets on the table hoping y'all would make your point so they could collect their $5 bet.. Should have just smiled when y'all was collecting your winings and kept on rollin.

I agree with gator... nothing wrong with throwing 20 non-sevens. Especially if you have other bets in play and are collecting money. You can't help it if the others are not betting other numbers.

I hope you had and were making money. I would never have left a table in the middle of my roll though. You never know... your next throw may have been the point and you could have started again and been on your way to a 45 minute run... then those grumpy idiots would have been singing another tune...

If I were there I would have been cheering you on and loving 20 numbers...

You had to have hit 7. Otherwise, you would still be rolling!! ;) Did you hit other point numbers? lke 4,6,8,9,10? Maybe no one had any money on those numbers and were ONLY betting on the pass line? if they only had money on the pass line, that's their fault for not betting on more numbers.

We were on one of those casino boats out of Port Canaveral a few years ago. I have played craps all my life and love it. I was with a good friend of mine and was teaching him how to play. Some young guy got the dice and he was new too. He only put $5 on the line with no odds, no come bets and no numbers. He had the dice for over an hour. My friend and I made thousands and the roller made maybe $100. But I did play alot of bets for him so he made a lot more on those bets. The pit boss then announced the table was closed when he sevened out. I was glad he did and thanked him. There are some great stories about crap games and I hope to create some of my own.

I LOVE shooters like that, the other players were probably either JUST on the Pass or Don't Pass lines, or you were throwing craps numbers (2, 3 & 12), so their place bets were not getting paid. Without seeing the table, I could not tell you why they were cranky, unless you kept hitting them with the dice.
