stevexy Posted June 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2010 I am sailing on Carnival Victory on one of the 4J's obstructed--way up on the Panorama Deck--is up near the pool and buffet, etc--and easy to go outside to the area in the front of the ship (where you can then look inside the cabin...) So, question is, for $40 pp (3 of us so $120) would you upgrade to a Ocean View Guarantee? (advantage--nicer room)(downside--in the bowels of the ship) Appreciate any advice--thanks
firefly333 Posted June 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2010 Not even if it was for free. I would rather have the high deck, nearer the pool and buffet, with the semi private deck in front of my cabin to go out on. You have a full window, even if you cant see all you might want to see. Not me. I wouldnt take the chance of being all the way aft on the bottom deck just to get a unobstructed view. NO, no me.
AlanAllyn Posted June 3, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2010 I would hesitate to be in one of those 4J's directly under the gym.
TigerStar Posted June 3, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 3, 2010 I wouldn't, but I also didn't buy Google stock when I had a chance.
truchattycathy Posted June 3, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2010 No me either. We have an inside room on the lido (no window at all) and for $40 each we could get an oceanview in the bowels of the ship. We passed. I love love love the Lido. We have considered Panorama Deck as well. Good luck.
Traveler353 Posted June 3, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 3, 2010 I would not make the change. You are already in a good location.

janabm81 Posted June 3, 2010 #9 Share Posted June 3, 2010 Now if they said you could stay in your same location I'd take it but to be moved to BFE...no way. :)
travelntreats Posted June 3, 2010 #10 Share Posted June 3, 2010 you want a full window w/out obstruction... then I would do it....but knowing you MAY be in the lower decks of the ship......If you like the location you are at ...why change ? Pee-ah Posted June 3, 2010 #11 Share Posted June 3, 2010 I also have a 4J for my up coming cruise.. could have had an Ocean View for $40 more when i booked.... Nope.. would much rather be higher!
golfadj Posted June 3, 2010 #12 Share Posted June 3, 2010 They would have to pay me to make the switch.

stevexy Posted June 3, 2010 Author #15 Share Posted June 3, 2010 Thanks everyone--its been bugging me all day. Will keep what I have got. Now, if they offer me a balcony.....that I would take....
hoop4321 Posted June 3, 2010 #16 Share Posted June 3, 2010 we were on the spa level on the valor, one deck about panorama.....and the location was wonderful. There are afts available on our cruise, but we decided against is as we love the location.....you are close to everything, and have a ton of elevators at hand. RMcoolX Posted June 3, 2010 #17 Share Posted June 3, 2010 They should pay YOU to make that change, not you paying them. Keep what you got...I would!
C&THollings Posted June 3, 2010 #18 Share Posted June 3, 2010 Never, I love the 4J on the Lido, my husband needs the handicap room, and I love the location. The deck out front is great for pictures, just hanging out as leaving or coming into port and close to everything on the ship.. Plus a window if you want daylight. ChefSusan Posted June 3, 2010 #19 Share Posted June 3, 2010 Stay where you are and don't make the change. You already said that you love the location as it's near everything - why ruin it by being farther away? If they offer you a balcony at a great price (or free), then grab it! shipgirl56 Posted June 3, 2010 #20 Share Posted June 3, 2010 We had balcony 1061 on the Panorama Deck on the Victory. I loved the location.
cruiserbryce Posted June 3, 2010 #21 Share Posted June 3, 2010 I would stay where you are...doesnt seem like the deck 2 or 3 thing would be worth it for the extra $
