Hotel shuttle takes to cruise, how do you leave?

I have always cruised out of Pt Canaveral, and driven to the Port, so hotels the night before, shuttles, etc are a whole new game for me.

We are staying at Hyatt Place the night before the cruise. They have a shuttle to pick us up from the airport. They then have a shuttle that will take us to the port to board the ship ($8 per person).

We have a wonderful weeks vacation on the ship!!

Then we get off, and now what. What is the easiest way to get back to the airport?

Take a cab? Arrange for a shuttle to the airport? Book that portion with cruiseline? Take the shuttle back to the hotel and then the hotel shuttle to the airport? Flight is at 5, so there is no rush but that seems silly.

I am not sure what to do when I disembark. I guess I'll just have to stay on the ship!

getting back we have just always jumped in a cab...its really close and inexpensive...no need to worry about making reservations this way

About how much does a cab cost? We are not sure if we are going to fly back home the day we debark or stay until Monday. It all depends on what flights Sunday cost compared to Monday.

Is anyone else out there screaming at their computers because SOUTHWEST AIRLINES HASN'T OPENED THEIR SCHEDULES PAST NOVEMBER 5??????? ARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

Phew.... I needed that!

Taxi from the port to FLL is only about $10 including tip. If you stay in the area post cruise, try to get a hotel with shuttle service to both the port & airport. Just call the hotel and they will pick you up and take you to the airport the next day. Many of the Priceline and Hotwire hotesl also include breakfast. Looks like Hyatt Place is now charging for the port shuttle but a taxi would only be about $10 also.

Hyatt Place North? I just booked last week and the shuttle to and from the airport is supposed to be free. When did this change and how much is the charge? I thought I read somewhere that someone said $8 pp......but thought it was wrong since it is supposed to be free. We are heading to FLL in September.

That wasn't exactly clear in your post...in any event, the shuttles can get packed, are not necessarily operated by the hotel and a cab goes when YOU want to go as opposed to when the shuttle decides that it's full.....

I just checked the hotel website and now it says complimentary airport shuttle and area shuttle. Previously it mentioned to pier. FYI to those wanting the shuttle.......I would call the hotel to check ahead of time.
