ravenclaw Posted August 25, 2010 #26 Share Posted August 25, 2010 Yes, it is. You can combine (at least) three sources of credit to your Seabourn account. The Shareholder Benefit--applicable to every cruise you take; the Referral Coupon credit--one per cabin per cruise; and any "donation" you received from your TA.Getting the credits posted to your account is the real challenge. In process in securing referral coupon for $400 as a new Seabourn cruiser as well as Carnival shareholder benefit at $100 per cruise. Will be on 3 back to back cruises and understand that the shareholder benefit is per cruise segment based on length of the voyage and the referral one per cabin per cruise. Question: As we're looking at a total of $700 of on board credits, do we have to spend the credits per cruise segment, as following, cruise 1, (400 & 100), cruise 2, (100), cruise 3, (100), OR can we carry the on board credits for the entire length of the cruises and use at our discretion ? Roxburgh Posted October 6, 2010 #33 Share Posted October 6, 2010 My TA handled the contacts with Seabourn for the stockholders credit. As a nice bonus, CCL is now at $39.73 which represents, for me, a gain of $9/share or $1,350.

jam52 Posted October 30, 2010 #36 Share Posted October 30, 2010 Does this shareholder OBC show up anywhere after you've signed in with your booking number in the "Already Booked" section of the Seabourn site? No, I don't think so, but I had an email confirmation from the office, and when we arrived in our cabin, there was an envelope that said we had a $250 on board credit. Do you own more than 100 shares, longer than 7 days, or is it just that much more luxurious?
markham Posted October 30, 2010 #38 Share Posted October 30, 2010 The Seabourn shareholder benefit is $250 for cruises of 14 days or longer. It's $100 for 7-13 days and $50 for 6 days or less. The holding stipulation is 100 shares or more. This information can be found online in the Carnival Annual Report under shareholder benefits for all their brands. Seabourn is a North American brand, fyi. Regards
sullaRaffaello Posted November 1, 2010 #39 Share Posted November 1, 2010 Last Thursday, 10/28, after having been assured by the Seabourn office in Florida that all I had to do was fax the shareholder information and the onboard credit would be taken care of, I faxed the infomation. I received a confirming printout at my end that the pages had been sent. Today I called Seabourn, and after being put on hold several times was pleasantly told that they had absolutely no record of any such information having been received, and could I please fax it again. As far as I'm concerned, faxing something without a dedicated human recipient standing at the machine sends it to a black hole. I know what happens to incoming faxes in my office. They wind up mixed in with somebody else's messages, behind tables, or on the floor. So, just a word of warning to anybody faxing anything to Seabourn. Call immediately after. I know I will when I fax it again.

Donaldm Posted November 4, 2010 #41 Share Posted November 4, 2010 You can also google "Carnival shareholder benefits" which will lead you to the Carnival corporation web page where the terms of the benefits are set forth.
JaneBP Posted January 16, 2012 Author #42 Share Posted January 16, 2012 Considering the recent events, the Carnival share price is down around it's 52 week low this morning, which makes a nice buying opportunity, especially for people who cruise the Carnival frequently and want to take advantage of the shareholder benefit. Roxburgh Posted January 31, 2012 #44 Share Posted January 31, 2012 Thanks everyone for the heads up on this. I emailed my purchase confirmation to Seabourn and got an immediate response that the credit had been applied to my March cruise. At today's price and on a holding of 100 shares, a $250 OBC is the equivalent of a tax free 8.3% dividend. And, on top of that, Carnival pays a regular dividend. Any comments/info, please? Cheers She's WRONG! The benefit is applicable on sailings through July 31, 2012 aboard the brands listed below. Certain restrictions apply. Applications to receive these benefits should be made at least two weeks prior to cruise departure date. This benefit is available to shareholders holding a minimum of 100 shares of Carnival Corporation or Carnival plc. Employees, travel agents cruising at travel agent rates, tour conductors or anyone cruising on a reduced-rate or complimentary basis are excluded from this offer. This benefit is not transferable and cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuities charged to your onboard account. Only one onboard credit per shareholder-occupied stateroom. Reservations must be made by February 29, 2012.
