Hi Cheryl thanks for the feed back darn I wish we were all going together that would really make a party. 4 ships in port the day we are there with a total of 14,865 passengers. I was thinking maybe Paradise Beach would be too crazy I'm not that into a bunch of kids running all around me. At least at Nachi its limited to 100 people. Since you've been to Paradise do you agree it probably will be way busy?

With that many ships in that day, I would say it will be absolutely packed! I love going there, but after 3 times, I really wanted to try something different. WHat I was not aware is that Nachi's still has the parasailing, jet ski's etc. So I think there should be some action. I'm actually trying to remember if there was music at Paradise..for some reason, I'm thinking not? How soon we forget (OAD)..hehe. I just love the idea of being in a fresh water pool with the beautiful beach right there. Reminds me of Margaritaville in Grand Turks!

I wish we were all going at the same time too! We would have taken over the place and made it more lively whether they liked it or not..hehe

I completed the online reservation form today to hold our place at Nachi Cocom for our cruise in September. I received an email reply from the reservation department requesting that I email them a credit card number to hold my place. They said they would not charge my card anything, but I would need to pay cash or travelers check when I arrive. Is this the same process that everyone else has experienced in making a reservation for this beach club? I am a little uneasy about sending my credit card info in an unencrypted email to Mexico when they will not accept the card as payment for the excursion. Has anyone had any issue with this? I appreciate your response!

Check the email again as it should say this: A $12 usd/ adult,$7usd/child (12-17) and $5usd (4yrs-11) deposit is required in order to secure your reservation. Please note that your deposit would be fully refunded if your ship cannot make port for any reason. You pay the balance IN CASH upon arrival at the beach. I did this the last time and had no issues.

FYI I forwarded this thread to Island Marketing to address any concerns people have written about in this thread especially concerning the chairs. Here is their response I really had not expected to hear from them so I was very happy with their quick response to our concerns.

Good Morning,

Many thanks for your email. We review all comments with the beach club managment and appreciate you taking the time to share this with us. As the exclusive online reservations service for the beach club we monitor Nachi very closely. I am certain that new chairs will be in place shortly.

Thanks Yvonne, and we hope you will enjoy a wonderful day at Nachi as so many have. It is a unique place, catering to a more private beach experience and unlike anything else offered in Cozumel. We will continue to work hard to ensure this remains a special place and a good value and quality for our valued guests:)

All the best.

You are booking directly with Nachi cocom and they just started to do this, you used to only be able to book with Island Marketing.

I faxed the credit card info.

You paid the deposit upfront with Island Marketing and then paid in cash or travelers checks the remainder upon arrival to Nachi Cocom.

There are a few differences between the two procedures.

Booking with Nachi Cocom directly:

1) No deposit paid up front. Excursion fully paid upon arrival in cash or travelers checks.

2) For a No-Show, you will get charged $12.50 per person unless there is a prior 24 hour notification.

3) No penalties if your ship doesn't make it into port.

Booking with Island Marketing:

1) Deposit made upon reservation in the amount of $12 per person. Deposit is non-refundable. (Unless ship doesn't make it into port.) Remainder of excursion is paid upon arrival in cash or travelers checks.

2) For a no-show, the entire amount of excursion is charged to your credit card.

3) Cancelation period is 2 weeks prior. Again, $12 per person deposit is non-refundable.

4) No penalties if your ship doesn't make it into port.

On Nachi's reservation form, I authorized them to charge $24.50 as I was told. The terms are clearly spelled out on it. As it was faxed, I still have the original and the proof of faxing. Anything is charged and I would simply dispute it with American Express.

It's simply a matter of personal preference as to which way you wish to book your excursion there. I just decided I liked the "fine print" of my reservation with dealing with this excursion.

We are looking to book Nachi too for our upcoming cruise on the Valor (Aug 29th). I checked, there are still spots left, but one thing is holding me back..is the water the clear turquoise color, some pictures make it look darker while others make it look clear and beautiful, I can't tell and I love a good beach! If anyone has been in the past couple of weeks and can share some pictures or opinions, I would appreciate it, I really need to fax in my form but I am torn...

The water was clear and beautiful when we were there on 8/2. It looked like green glass and you could see all the cute little fish hanging around near the shore. I'm not sure how the water was further out because I didn't go in past my waist, but it looked beautiful to me. Here is a pic, hope it helps.

It's a sandy beach with very few rocks, and when the weather has been good, the water is clear. However, if there has been stormy weather recently, the water can be a darker color until everything settles down again.

we enjoyed the pool (we live on the ocean and have access to boats all the time so the ocean and beach wasn't that important to us) A storm had just rolled through the day before we went and they were cleaning the beach and doing a good of of taking care of things. The food was good and they kept the drinks coming.

When I looked at the cost vs PB because of the drink, food, and the pool the cost ended up cheaper and we didn't have to deal with as many people.

Are there vendors on the beach trying to sell you stuff? Thanks

We were just at Nachi Cocom on August 4th and had a fantastic time. This was our second visit, and I was surprised that our waiter Miguel, remebered us from our February visit. The beach was quiet and peaceful and the water was extremely clear. There are no vendors per se; there's a small store that they sell snorkel gear, bracelets, etc, and someone will come around and ask if you are interested in a massage or parasail, but nothing pushy or intrusive. They ask once, accept no, and leave you alone for the rest of the day. I have a few videos from our August sailing where Nachi Cocom is featured. The audio on one is horrible, and I have no idea what happened there, but it gives you an idea of what NC looks like from the water. I would advise watching in HD if your Internet connection allows. Feel free to watch the rest if you're interested in any of the other prots visited on our recent Celebrity Solstice cruise. Here's the link:

Am I understanding correctly that they bring you to your seat? Do you not get to pick where you want to sit on the beach?

Also, how about shade, are the palapas all over? Are they first come first served or are they shared?

My parents are coming with and I'm sure they would like to sit with us and their grand kids but my dad would like the shade and the rest of us will likely want some sun.

Thanks for any info

They escort you to a palapa, but will gladly move you if there's something more to your liking. We did this on both of our visits. Palapas provide plenty of shade for two people. For more shade you can also sit in the main pavillion area where you would normally eat lunch, but I would imagine this not being as much fun. I don't think you'll have a problem aranging your family so that your Dad has the shade from the palapa and everyone else is worshipping the sun. Most people wh want the sun just move the lounger into the sun.

I assume you received some sort of confirmation after you faxed your info? I might go this route as well, thanks for sharing your experience so far.
