barbie5401 Posted June 18, 2010 #51 Share Posted June 18, 2010 Only problem would be if you didn't use a coupon on one trip and you used it on another - if it was program into your seapass - you couldn't use it. And how are those stupid coins they give you for the casino going to work? I have a feeling the coupons will be around for awhile. NCL gives you one sheet of coupons, don't remember what Celebrity does

NCL gives you one sheet of coupons, don't remember what Celebrity does But that's actually how it's supposed to work. The coupon books are intended only for the cruise you are on (they say so on each coupon (or they used to), but there is nothing to identify the cruise), not until the book's pre-printed expiration date. For every perk, someone out there tries to figure out how to get more out of it than it was designed to be.

But you can only use it the first night,so no doubling up on another cruise,if you dont use it.
booze brothers Posted June 18, 2010 #54 Share Posted June 18, 2010 Since the concierge and Diamond lounge are such a mod scene on the first night, maybe they're trying to get people to eat more and drink less.
cruisenfever Posted June 18, 2010 #55 Share Posted June 18, 2010 If this has been asked or brought up I apologize........but we always received two coupon books in the cabin, one for me and one for my husband. Will we still each get a book and will there be a BOGO coupon in each book?

It sounds to me,it will be more like a voucher, than an actual coupon,so Im thinking there will be one..............since this is all new, this is just a guess on my part.. cruisenfever Posted June 18, 2010 #57 Share Posted June 18, 2010 Maybe one would NOT need to have the voucher in hand when they book(but of course, would need it when the bill came)...... Now why didn't I think of that?:o Of course you would only need it when paying your bill. I guess I thought it was like all other coupons that you had to show at the time of purchase (i.e., make a reservation).

dramaqueen4lyfe Posted June 18, 2010 #67 Share Posted June 18, 2010 Hey Kathy, 4 pages just since 11am  Interesting subject. We'll have to wait and see what transpires but like the rest of you I see some ways that problems will occur. Since the waiters in the MDR wont see us on the first night, it's possible the 2nd night will be a mad house as they get to know our idiosyncrasies.:D

There are so many specialty restaurants, I'm wondering if Oasis will be included. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

mcca2 Posted June 19, 2010 #71 Share Posted June 19, 2010 You think every DP member would want to go?? I wonder on average how many DP are on any given cruise.. On the TA's and longer cruises.............. plenty. You mean like those that go on back to backs and get upgraded to the Royal Suite. Like that would ever happen.:D Never in a million years..... except perhaps on Monarch...... I dont know any more details than what I posted........that is why I started this thread(to see if anyone has first hand experience) Hmmmmmmmm............I recall that happening to someone I know;) Hmmmmmmm, I heard about that as well. Great thread Kathy. I agree, you could make the ressie for first night and then show up with the coupon..........seems logical to me. Don't see why you would need the coupon to make the ressie. First come first served........That's how it usually works....
Host Kewlguy Posted June 19, 2010 #72 Share Posted June 19, 2010 You think every DP member would want to go?? I wonder on average how many DP are on any given cruise..:confused: We had approximately 3300 passengers on Explorer in May and only 33 Diamond Plus members. That's 1%. I've been on cruises where there were less than 10. Of course as each day passes more and more join the ranks. At least for now anyway.

I remember the day (25 years ago) when we took our second cruise with RCCL and there were 4 other repeat passengers! A couple cruises later there were 20 of us - and we all said WOW- So many repeaters! How times have changed!
