Langley Cruisers Posted June 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 21, 2010 Wouldn't a weather website or the National Hurricane Center website be a better place to get this information?
cigal Posted June 22, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 22, 2010 The National Hurricane Center knows nothing about Alex. Did you mean Celia? Here's the link: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/index.shtml?epac By the way, Celia is in the Eastern Pacific. The Atlantic is quiet at the moment. Happy Cruising! jackdiamond Posted June 22, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted June 22, 2010 Some sources indicate a 50% chance of it becoming a TD within the next couple of days. One source even suggests that it will become a hurricane within the next week and enter the Gulf. In any event, whatever it is, it will probably go through Jamaica, Hispanolia, Cuba and who knows where else.

Havingfun2010 Posted June 22, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 22, 2010 Why? Were you looking for some excitement, or are you worried? If you are looking for excitement, than you will be disappointed. If you are worried, than you will waste you time. Ships do not sail into storms, and unless a port is in the target zone, you won't be affected. Since storms change track at any time, you cannot predict it, so don't worry about it.
tahqa Posted June 22, 2010 #8 Share Posted June 22, 2010 There is no Alex. There is a tropical wave that has a 40% chance to form into a tropical depression. Right now all it's doing it's spawning t-storms.
