cruzisme Posted February 6, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2005 We are booked with a DD outside cabin, no balcony. My question is: are the beds (twin) or queen sized bed directly in front of the window? I saw this on a virtual 360 tour but in the pamphlet, the beds were placed perpendicular to the walll. Anyone with experience with a DD cabin (CC, C or DD) please advise! :)
PrincessAddict Posted February 6, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2005 They are twin beds directly under the window...nice cabins actually.
TorontoTL Posted February 6, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2005 I had a category DD cabin on the Sun last year, D240. It was a good cabin with a very large picture window, almost wall to wall and floor to ceiling, much larger than a usual window in outside cabins I've seen on Grand class ships. The cabin was arranged so that the bed was on a side wall and not under the window.
patti o Posted February 7, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2005 I can't find a D240 on the Sun. Jumps from D235 to D301 outside. ???
Globaliser Posted February 7, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2005 I can't find a D240 on the Sun. Jumps from D235 to D301 outside. ???It's there, on the port side. Nestled between D236 and D302. (D238 is an inside.)
cruzisme Posted February 8, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted February 8, 2005 thanks for your info, Fellow Canadians! I am on the West Coast, with a touch of snow on the ground. The ski hills are open for business again, while my crocuses are already blooming! We have cabin 702 on Caribe deck; I would love to have the bed next to the wall, not under the window! I suppose I could ask the steward if there is no makeup table in the way? Possible or not? thanks again! :)
TorontoTL Posted February 8, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 8, 2005 I am so jealous of you west coasters and your amazing weather. We're above zero at least for the next couple of days and then back down to below zero and seasonal weather. I love gardening and would love to live out west to extend the gardening season. I doubt you could change the room layout but you can always ask! I think the writing desk/make-up table is probably bolted down ;) .
K D cruiser Posted February 9, 2005 #8 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Cruzisme, When are you going? We're also in C702. Hope Princess didn't goof. I hope the bed is on the wall. We had an outside once with the bed under the window and we had to crawl on the bed to get a good look out.
cruzisme Posted February 9, 2005 Author #9 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Hi K D Cruiser and all! C702 is our cabin for the Sept. 14 Panama Canal cruise. When are you going? K D cruiser Posted February 9, 2005 #10 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Hi, We're going in a few months, so I will be sure to report back. The pictures I've seen show the bed on the wall. Since this stateroom is a "deluxe" outside, there should be an extra three feet that otherwise would be used for a balcony. I'll let you know.
