Shore Excursions

Recommended Posts

Yes, when you book directly through Carnival you pay for the shore excursion when you book it. My boyfriend and I just did this, and although they took the money off of his debit card almost immediately, we thought it was weird that we did not receive a confirmation e-mail...however, when we logged into our booking on carnival's website, it was listed under our activities, so we're not worried about it. Don't get worried if you pay for it and don't get a confirmation e-mail!

Crazy question, but I've never booked a shore excursion through Carnival and it seems that you have to pay for the shore excursion when you book it? I've booked through NCL and I don't remember having to pay in full until we were provided our tickets onboard.

On Carnival you pay at booking (if it is canceled, or if you cancel in a timely manner you get a refund) while on NCL you book whenever and the charge is added to your sign and sail card and paid at the end of the cruise.

If one needs to change that tour once onboard, then they give a credit to the onboard account. That's they way it worked for me once. For Dominica I had pre-booked an expensive tour, but I became ill and couldn't attend. They credited my account.
