Future Cruise on Board?

I'm sure this has been asked several times before, but I did a search and I just don't see it. We will be cruising on Carnival in October and I have already found another cruise I'd like to book. My question is ... Does Carnival have a travel agent on board where you can book a future cruise? And if so, what "perks" do you get by booking on board?

You can get a Future Cruise Certificate while on board but no benefit to actually booking a cruise on board.

They have a program called future cruise certificates. It is really a deposit where you pay $100 and without getting really long winded here, get $100 discount on a future cruise and (if you took a 7 day cruise as an example) get $100 OBC. The amount of OBC depends on the length of the cruise you will take. I am pretty sure they offer this program on the Liberty.

When we booked our October 2011 Magic transatlantic cruise aboard the Miracle with Vivienne Crouch (her kiosk was located right outside the forward entrance to the casino), we didn't get anything extra than the $200 OBC, the 2-for-1 Sea Miles on our Carnival credit card, and the assurance that we'd have our aft balcony all sewn up. ;)

I got a Future Cruise Certificate on the Liberty last year they had a desk on the promenade deck

FYI.

I am not sure its that great of a deal they want you to Express mail it to them after your book at your cost. And if final payment is due when you book you will get an OBC for amount you paid amount plus the OBC they give for you for the amount days. No way I am gonna spend $18.30 to use this. I will just send it regular mail with tracking or priority mail.

Per my PVP on booking whiten final payment is due.

First you would have to send it express mail as soon as you book so we could have time to process it.You would pay the booking off in full, and they would apply the F.C.C. as a on board credit to your cabin.

I booked 8 days before my cruise and immediately ran to the post office to get it in the mail before 5 pm on a thursday and it arrived certified mail (as the instructions say to mail it) saturday am.

They got it posted by the following Wednesday, my PVP was tracking it thru their system, and I left Friday for New Orleans ....I didnt get the $100 refunded to my credit card until after the cruise. I had the choice of $100 extra OBC or a refund to my card, and choose to my card.

It can be done via certified mail.

I thought it was a fair deal. Got it on the Valor, sent it in after we got home and booked the valor again. Sent it in by certified mail(maybe $13 or so). Made final payment except $100(that is the part that CArnival will apply from certificate). I called and ask them to apply the $100 so I could print up paperwork( I was leaving the area and needed to print up cruise papers now) they applied it within minutes. I also got the $100 OBC( it is really $87 because I payed to mail certificate in.). I have $100 OBC now when I get on the ship. You can only use 1 certificate per cabin.

I thought that if you booked on the ship they gave you something to give to a friend for a better deal. Anyone know what I am talking about?

I will buy the FCC again.

We just booked on board Glory for another cruise next year and we ensured the cabin we wanted, received OBC and certificates for the same OBC for two other cabins if we had friends or family who wanted to join us. Your OBC is dependant on cruise length and type of cabin chosen and as it happened we booked ourselves and another couple at the same time. Put a deposit on the Early Saver Plan and both cabins got the OBC. Once everything was taken care of, they turned the booking over to my regular PVP in Miami who will continute to service me in the future.

I send the F.C.C Priority mail with delivery confirmation on Monday. By Thursday noon I saw a $100 credit under my billing under my cruise details online. Not sure what they will do with my credit card because I had to pay in full and this was a last min cruise so I guess they will be refunding $100 to my CC. :D

Why wouldnt you ask?? Not the best booking agent as they should have told you that YOU had the choice of OBC for the $100 you paid or a refund. My booking was locked and if I hadnt followed up ... I would have lost the $100 I paid. I almost forgot about it, but a few weeks after my cruise, it hit me and sure enough no one had given me back my $100 I paid.. opps.

Dont leave stuff like this up in the air ... or you could lose it.

I'm sorry but I'm not quite sure I understand.

So you pay $250 per person to book another cruise on board, then they give you a FCC for $100 to apply towards that cruise? So you are getting $100 off your total cruise cost?

We are booked on the 10/15/11 Dream, we booked using early saver. One person decided cancel, since I used my CC to book the cruise I get the $200 FCC back in my name. My sister and I plan to book another cruise for 10/2012 (my 40th Birthday) using the FCC.

Would it benefit us to book on board on our 2011 cruise or not?

I believe if you book onboard the $100 would be counted toward the deposit, so you would not be charged extra, just get the OBC. I never book onboard, since I dont plan on booking extra cabins, there is zero reason for me to book onboard. I wait until Im home and book thru my PVP.

If you are trying to book using credit from a cancelled ES booking I for sure would never do that onboard.. .never. They will not be there to help you or to walk things thru. They are not taught enough and give out wrong info.

You will be home and if there are problems you have no individual to call to get that FCC applied if all doesnt go right.

I would buy FCCs and bring them home .. I have at least 4 more of them here I have not used. When I feel like booking, I pull out a FCC and mail it in.

I just called CCL and they say $100 has be refunded to my credit card . I will keep an eye on my CC for next few days and call them Monday if it don't show up by then.

They could have done a $200 OBC credit it wouldn't have mattered to me. Not like we wont spend $200

I've used two of these and didn't express mail either of them. I sent them certified mail.

Yes, you can buy as many as you want.. they have to be for your booking, non transferable. They are good for 5 years, thats why I bought a stack I keep here at home.

You know, I read that too.. so new ones would only be good for 4 years now. I forgot, thanks.

Yes, bought 2 while on my cruise in July. Good for 48 months.

Question: The Carnival website is not clear on this (no where that I found) - Can it be used when booking the Early Saver rate? Has anyone here done that?

Thanks

A few weeks ago, the loyalty specialist onboard Carnival Destiny said the exact same thing as firefly above.

I trust that to be accurate information.

we just used two. We booked within full payment..I was told the full amount is charged out and then the obc is put on the account and the 100 is refunded back to your original FOP..Seems like they do extra work on this. Has been a month and I called today and was told I would see my check in a couple of weeks! Hope it arrives before we leave!!
