Has anyone booked a room mid-ship next to glass elevator? Just wondering if you hear any noise. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

While I wasn't near the glass elevator on my last cruise I was right next to a sets of elevators. It was the most quiet room I've ever had on any ship.

On our recent Oosterdam cruise, we had a deluxe suite next to the midship glass elevator. It was the quietest cabin we have ever had. Did not hear elevator noise or people talking. There is enough buffer between the cabin and the elevator area.

Don't worry about it -- there are enough buffers so you won't hear anything.

We always book the first available verandah cabin next to the glass elevators, you won't hear a thing.

 

The location can't be beat, mid ship, plenty of elevators waiting to serve you,

Personally we like to be farther away from the elevator lobbies. We have been bothered by people waiting for an elevator or just getting on and off and making noises.

 

They may yell down the hall for a friend to hurry up while they are holding the elevator door open. And we have been bothered by a group of loud and obnoxious drunks getting off the elevator at 2:00AM. It's really luck of the draw but we prefer to stay away form them.

Elevators, all including glass bubble ones, empty into an elevator lobby, NOT into cabin hallways. They are all but silent and well blocked off from your hallway unless you are directly across the passageway from the elevator lobby door. And even then you might hear the arrival ping or people talking, but you will not hear any machinery sounds.

 

Its not a worry.
