If you have never been to Glacier Bay, it is an experience not to be missed. So, if you are picking one or the other, I would choose Glacier Bay. As others have said, Mendenhall Glacier is different. If there is no other excursion in Juneau that you want to do, I would visit Mendenhall. You could wait until you get to Juneau to decide as there are local busses that will take you there. Personally, I like the Hubbard Glacier the best so if you ever get a chance to see it, do so.

I don't think cruise prices are coming down. If ships are sailing full or close to full, why would they.

It is early in the season. It may fill up as the time gets closer. Sailing on a ship not full is pretty nice. I remember the first cruises after the ""pause" from Covid were really nice with half empty ships.

Having sailed out of San Diego many times, I have always found the agents to be very kind and helpful. I suspect the problem is that so many passengers want to be "first to board" that things can get chaotic. I have stayed the night before right across from the ship and notice that some people start lining up at 9:00AM well before the ship has been emptied of the previous cruise's passengers. One time we did arrive after 1:30 and we were on the ship in no time. If you suspect you might have an issue, I suggest having a nice lunch at one of the restaurants close by and then start the process.

Isn't that first snaking line for security which everyone has to go through? And if there is more than one ship in port, everyone goes through the same security line and then you split off for ship checkin.

I have not traveled Princess since this app has been required so have read this thread thoroughly. Last time I got the medallion at the port. If I complete the web version, does the information transfer over to the app which I have downloaded. I do not intend to allow the shoreside credit card business as I seldom buy stuff ashore and if I do, I use cash in Mexico. My traveling companions are pressuring me to complete the app but if I end up in the blue line does it really matter. They seem to think it is a fate worse than death not to be in the green line. Port is San Pedro. Any answers or suggestions. Thanks.

Sometimes I think a medal presentation depends on the captain's whims. Prior to Covid we were to receive Silver Medallions. And they were left on our bed. Later learned only one other couple was to receive their medallions and the captain decided not to have a ceremony for just the two couples.

As we know, there are 3 vaccines being encouraged this year: Flu, RSV, and Covid. It appears it is getting more difficult to determine which illness one might have.

San Diego is also my favorite port to sail from. Love staying across the street at Springfield Suites. Can watch how the debarkation and embarkation are progressing and time my walk over accordingly.

Sometimes a guarantee is booked because that is the only way to book a specific cruise. Over a year out, a cruise I wanted was sold out and the only way to book it was by guarantee. I don't like guarantees myself but, in this case, if I want to take this cruise, it was the only choice in the category I want. I may eventually cancel because for the amount this cruise will cost, I do not like the uncertainty of waiting until check-in to learn my cabin.

Have dined in CO on the Konigsdam as benefit of Neptune Suite. Usually just breakfast as I like to dine in the Specialty Restaurants at dinner. I found the service to be really good and the staff gets to know you and your likes very quickly. I always have gotten the last two top at the back (I travel solo) now and it is quiet there. Also, it is easy to get to know others around you if you want to. Generally, if you go early, there is no problem getting a table whereas there has been on my sailings a huge line for the MDR. I recommend Club Orange for the dining experience.
