2 adults, 2 kids = 1 inside stateroom??

Hello!

My husband and I are planning a cruise on the Valor during the week of January 2nd (2010). We have never brought the kids (8 and 6) on a cruise before and would like to bring them (between a cruise and Disney for some reason the boys want a cruise!!).

We are thinking of just grabbing an inside stateroom (this is what we do when we travel ourselves). Has anyone done this with their kids? Is it difficult and worth the price to upgrade to a larger room??? Any suggestions??

Thank you all for any input!

I think the insides are the same size as the ocean views...the only way you will get a signifigantly larger room is to get a suite...I don't find an issue with 4 in an inside if you are only there to sleep...but if you spend a lot of time in the room it could be quite claustrophobic...

We did this on our first family cruise on the Conquest, the kids were 10 and 7 then. No issues. A few times we sent the boys to shower at the spa to save time. Sometime we'll do connecting rooms, but for an inexpensive cruise we'd have no problem putting 4 in a room again! (Actually, we may be doing this on Glory for spring break 2011!)

Doable? Certainly.

But...

If you could find a great price on balcony cabin, I think you'd find it more enjoyable. While the room and amenities are comparable (unless in a suite, of course), having that balcony is almost like having an extra room. While the kids sleep, the adults can be outside chilling. And since they chose a cruise over Disney, they might be fascinated to be able to watch for other ships, sealife (possibly), and the proceedings while docking, etc. (without mom & dad having to be ready to escort them up on deck).

That would be my preference.

We go cheap. All I do is sleep and shower in the room. I have had 4 adults and 1 child in a room before. Tight 'yes' But the people that go with me don't have a lot of money and couldn't go any other way. We go on 2 cruises a yr with 4 in a room every yr. Two are my sons and one of ther friends. It works for us,but might not work for you.

Actually this isnt correct. OVs are 220 s.f. on Valor and insides are 185 s.f.

Insides on Carnival are always 2 bunks and 2 twins (on this ship)

OP you say that you usually travel this way, however hotel rooms are significantly larger.
