exbodcon Posted August 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Hi, Travelling on Oriana from Southampton. Advised that check-in opens at 14:00 but have read reports of passengers getting on board earlier and having lunch. From experience, what is the earliest or best time to board ? Thanks
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2010 You will likely board around 12:00 Noon. It's good to board early to enjoy lunch on the ship and to start to get settled in. Keith
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2010 You might get more specific answers on the P&O-UK board. EM
Happy ks Posted August 17, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2010 I'll have to agree with Essiesmom about more specific answers, but.... Many people arrive at terminals early so they can board early, look around, have lunch, etc... The problem you may encounter would be long waits to board, usually most are available early but if there are any problems the early pax could have a lengthy wait. We've started arriving after the crowds have died down, Usually 1:30 - 3:00 pm ( that would be 13:30 - 15:00, right? :)). Lines are pretty much non-existant by that time, you can proceed directly to your cabin with no waits and surprisingly enough, our luggage has at times beat us to the cabin. We even go as far as stopping to have brunch/lunch along the way to the port so we don't have to be limited to buffet food (not a big buffet fan here). jocap Posted August 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2010 We normally arrive at the P&O terminals around 11.30, and manage to be on board soon after noon. They start to check in as soon as they've emptied the ship.....the chance is that you may have a short wait in the terminal, but that's no real hardship. Jo.
