Charity0000 Posted August 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2010 I have read all the reviews about the all-inclusive resorts with their private beaches....but i am wondering if there are any nice, public-access beaches that anyone can recommend? thanks! DFritz Posted August 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2010 Free access to Mr. Sancho's; the all inclusive is optional but you still need to take a taxi to get there.
tropical.dreams Posted August 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2010 It sounds like this one is free, and it's open much later than the 5pm time that everywhere else closes. http://cozumelmexico.net/Albertos_Beach/
skings Posted August 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2010 "Albertos" sounds great next door to Nachi Cocum. Thanks for the website. Looking for someplace different we are in port with 18000 others.:D
vmom Posted August 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 20, 2010 Alot of the beaches are technically "free", but if you want use of the facilities, ie restrooms, chairs, etc you are expected to pay an entrance fee or a minimum food/drink purchase, which is quite fair since someone has to maintain them. There are several beaches which are not all inclusives that offer a usage fee or minimum purchase fee that are quite reasonable and much cheaper than the all inclusives. melodystrother Posted August 20, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 20, 2010 I think it may just be fun to walk and beach hop allowing to check them all out and see which ones end up our favorites. Anyone been to the MONEY BAR AND BEACH.?? I wish there was an all inclusive beach excursion that allowed you to visit 4 or 5 beaches.

#1TravelMom Posted August 23, 2010 #8 Share Posted August 23, 2010 Albertos definately looks like the place for us. With 4 ships in port, we definately do not want Paradise Beach. We've been ther 5 times, and while their is lots to do, we are looking for something quiet and relaxing this trip.

Did it last November it was awesome

htkodiak Posted August 24, 2010 #12 Share Posted August 24, 2010 Do a search on Playa Corona its a short taxi ride from the port.It is a walk in beach not a big sandy beach.Nice friendly people running the place. There is no entry fee but they like it if you buy a drink or a meal from them, but are not pushy about it.The snorkeling is OK.There are plenty of places to relax, hammocks, chairs etc.We have been there twice and will be going again in Dec. 2010.It will be our 8th time in Cozumel.Enjoy your trip.
