How about the Golden for Hawaii?

OMG, I LOVE the pictures and especially the journaling of our Hawaii Cruise February 2010. I have perhaps a silly question but how do you do a presentation like that. I barely understand how to do power point. I am just so amazed how awesome it looks. Thank you for taking the time, I am an avid scrapbooker so I know it took considerable time to put it together.

First of all we have our own domain and host it at godaddy. Then we use wordpress blog software to create the blog. All we do then is use the dashboard in wordpress to write up what we want. Upload that and then upload the photos into the blog where we want them.

That's the reader's digest version. Once you get it set up it is really a matter of copy and pasting into the blog and uploading the photos. The nice thing is we can do all our blogging off-line and then copy and paste it into the website during the cruise. The photos take awhile to upload using the ship's internet connection so that is what really uses up the minutes onboard.

DuckDuck!

Amazing travel blog!

Thank you for sharing that.

I love your geo monkey... my husband geocaches as well!

TL

Nice to meet another Geocacher. We are going through the Panama Canal in two weeks and have set up a flashmob event in a couple of ports and will be looking for a cache or two. We have posted on our connection page, but no luck with other cachers on our cruise. We are going to replace a missing one in Panama and should be fun anyway.

Happy Caching.

For those of you that don't know what geocaching is, go to geocaching.com You use a gps to find and hide containers. It is a blast.

We cruised to Hawaii from LA in April 2009, the last sailing before the drydock. Ship was in need of repairs and I have heard it is lovely now.

the cruise was good. Enjoyed the sea days. Saw everything we wanted to see in Hawaii. We will do the cruise again.

O.K. I am totally lost but hopefully someday I'll figure it out. Regardless, it looks very nice and I know it was a lot of work too. I love the Monkey, my favorite. Thank for explaining.

Can anyone tell me if the Casino is open only during the Days At Sea or are they also open when cruising from port to port?

Due to restrictions in Hawaiian waters the casino is closed the entire time during the four port days in Hawaii. It is open on all the sea days and the only other time it closes is during the port stop in Ensenada. My husband is a big fan of the craps table and even he doesn't mind the Casino being closed during the days in Hawaii because we fill them with so much activity in port that he is way too tired to gamble in the evenings anyway. The sea days allow plenty of time going and coming back so he is happy!

I actually consider this good news, 14 days of a casino just steps away, could be bad news  My DH loves the casino and he will have to spread his wad into 8 days instead of 14 days :D

I had read some threads that some of the other cruise lines, I think Carnival, open their casinos, as soon as, they leave the port, on their way to the next port. I was just checking, so I could inform DH.

Thank you

We have been on the Golden several years ago and have Alaska booked on it for next year. We loved the ship. When we went to Hawaii, we were on another cruise line and went in December, I LOVED Hawaii and would love to go back. There is no place in the world like it. The people are so nice and helpful and the islands are so beautiful, unlike anything in the Caribbean. We flew into Honolulu and started our cruise from there. It has been our favorite cruise by far.

Have a great time and enjoy the islands! Aloha!

Thank you for posting all the questions and answers. We are going on the Golden Princess to Hawaii Dec. 8th this year. We are hoping to see whales but, I understand it's the beginning of the season and we might not see many. I hear that the ship will be decorated for Christmas so I just can't wait.

Thanks again to everyone for the info and pixs.

How fun! I think the Princess ships are so beautiful, I can just imagine how beautiful they would be decorated for Christmas. What a way to put you in the Christmas mood. Have a great time.

Do you mind letting us know what you decide? By the way, Vince and Lin's blog ("Duck Duck Cruise") is mostly what helped me decide to go on the Golden to Hawaii in November... They did such a fantastic job on it! That, and the number of relaxing sea days.... doing nothing but being pampered and letting the stress wash away! The combination of sea days and Hawaii cannot be beat!

Whatever you decide, have a great time. I am sorry that I won't be seeing you in April on the Mexican Riviera, but I understand the concerns. By the way, my philosophy is the same as yours... When it is your time, it is your time... No matter where you are!

Just waiting to hear back from my TA on what kind of a deal she can get us. I think we have pinned it down to either March of 2011 or 2012. Want to go with us :D

Please let me know how your cruise goes in November. I can't wait to hear about it. Make sure you take some pictures too.

I will make sure to take plenty of pictures and notes so that I can submit an informal review... I have a funny feeling I may want to do this cruise more than once! 82 days to go and it is killing me!
