Is TOGA night gone?

We were aboard the Atlantica in April during the 2 week cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Quebec City. We were at the early sitting for dinner and there was very little participation in this event by my observation. There may have been more involvement at late sitting.

Any new input on this? We will be on the Atlantica in the Caribbean, March 2011, and hope they will still have toga night. We were on the Magica in the Caribbean five years ago and had a ball getting dressed up in the togas. Most of the people on the ship participated.

There seems to be conflicting information on whether there is still a toga night on the Atlantica in the Caribbean. NancyJewel92 reported that it is gone, but others have said it is not. Anybody else on the Atlantica this year that can let us know if toga night is or is not part of the theme nights? We don't know whether to pack our togas!

We sailed on the Atlantica last month on a Western Caribbean cruise. Toga Night was on the second-to-last night. They handed out sheets the night before. I would say a quarter of the passengers participated from what we saw at the second seating. Some repeaters had brought their own togas. We didn't stay up for the Passenger Talent Show where you could send the performers to the lions if you didn't like them.

During the week of our cruise there were a couple of postings in the Today for passenger talent show volunteers. But on the last night, there was a crew show, no passenger talent. We figure that not enough passengers volunteered to comprise a show. The crew members were from various departments and were talented.

Wish I asked some of the crew about Toga night. Perhaps it was just eliminated for our week? Even though we were part of a large Irish group, on prior trips tons of folks got involved - many bringing their own togas; some making them a combination of Roman/Irish. :p
