Delasolbaltimore Posted September 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2010 Majesty of the Seas 9/6/10 Arrived around 10:50 to drop off luggage curbside then parked in garage across street. Entered terminal, they wanted to see docs and id then held in lobby a few minutes and then allowed to go up escalator. There were about 200 people waiting to go through xray, and they were cuing up Diamond and Platinum so my group got in front of line, I am platinum. There were about 30 other people before us. Right to check in and it was quick but we couldnt get on the ship but we were allowed to wait on side of lobby for priority boarding. About 10 minutes (now 11:15) we got to go up escalator again for picture and boarding. We went right to Windjammer and we were one of the first people there, nice spread and we ate and left to the pool for a few drinks until the rooms were ready. At 1pm we were allowed into our rooms, I had cabin 6041, an inside cabin for three people. It was slightly smaller than the ocean view 6044 my aunt had. There were 4 small drawers and a tiny closet with about 15 hangers. We ended up using the other bunk bed for storage. Only one double outlet we could find by the vanity and the plugs really didnt stay in the outlet. It was hard having 3 people in that tiny room, but we made it work. We kept the tv on the camera channel that showed the front of the ship so we could tell what time of the day it was. I know people were talking about the decoration packages, I ended up bringing some things from the dollar store and tipped my awsome cabin steward to put them up for me, it was my moms birthday. We had MTD and I made reservations for 630 before we left, and that worked out well for us every night. Out waiter was Richard on deck 4 table 120, he was great! The activites staff was great, they always had a smile and were always fun and entertaining. I participated in a few of the trivias, karaoke, and a don't forget the lyrics type game (that was fun, they asked for 10 people from the audience. I ended up winning!) . Most of the games they played ended up with the winner receiving a keychain and highlighter. Some games were better prizes like a hat or cell phone/camera holder, even a free bingo card! They asked for people to voulenteer for the 80's party the last night and I ended up being cyndi lauper and lip synced with backup dancers, there was also a Madonna, Prince, and Billy Idol. There was a repeaters party on Wednesday and they had screwdrivers, bloody marys, and champagne for about 45 minutes, it was at 11:45. Formal night was Tuesday, I think more people dressed down than up, and there were no lobster tails served in the dining room. The ports were Key West, Nassau, and Coco Cay. Great weather for all. I did no excursions with the ship. In Key West I went to the Hemmingway House and took a tour, that was really neat to hear the history and even better if you love cats! Its a tour and petting zoo all in one! In Nassau my mom made us go to the stray market, super hot and crowded. Good if you need junk of knock off designer purses, but its the same things over and over and over. I did go to Senor frogs for one $15 drink in one of those yard glasses. It was really hot in Coco cay and some people saw some jellyfish, one guy said he got stung. The buffet was ok, just basic burgers and stuff. The ship was nice for a smaller ship, it was more intimate and certain things I liked better than Oasis. There was a late night buffet Tuesday night on the pool deck. Johnny Rockets was not open for breakfast, and the Windjammer had short hours for lunch and dinner. The little deli was nice, they had made sandwiches and made quesidillas, they had a little menu for crepes but I never tried them. The casino sold a $30 chip package for $20 with there cool plastic “win cards” that were cheat sheets for I think Blackjack, Roulette, and Poker. Smoking was allowed on one side of ship inside the two lounges and along the outside decks and in the casino. On a side note, I was smoking on the pool deck on debarcation morning and a lady told me that early in the morning they had search dogs wandering the hallways and it smelled something in their room and the officers made her throw a sheet around herself and exit the cabin while they searched it. I'm never up early enough to know if they have search dogs but I found that crazy. I also found out at the repeaters party there was a couple on their 117th RCCL cruise. I am going to scan and post the compasses for each day, but if you want to know anything just ask!

Delasolbaltimore Posted September 11, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted September 11, 2010 I am going to scan the Compasses tonight and post them. I would have to look about the Deli, it wasnt crowded at the Windjammer so we never checked. I never saw the cruise director, as I never went to any of the theatre shows. I think his name was Kenny? I'm sure it says it in the Compass.

I just got off this cruise also - we had a great time, it's such a great ship and itinerary for a short cruise. We travelled with 4 first timers, I think they are hooked. great job on posting the compasses.

Merion_Mom Posted November 14, 2010 #16 Share Posted November 14, 2010 Hi,im on this cruise in Jan. i dont suppose you have the menus by any chance. I want to book Chopps online before l leave. Thanks:D There is no Chops on Majesty... The only pay venue for meals that Majesty has is Johnny Rockets, a 50's diner style eatery. The Compass Deli is complimentary, as is Sorrento's. Otherwise, you'll be eating in the Windjammer buffet or the Main Dining Room.
crookedhalo Posted November 14, 2010 #17 Share Posted November 14, 2010 Current cruise director was Ricky Mathews - he's outrageous:p Compass Deli is open on embarkation day and very, very quiet. Stays that way through most of the cruise;) First day they had a chilled pineapple soup that was so yummy!
