amedawn Posted September 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2010 There were 5 of us in our cabin last week. Granted it was an EB suite, but we had plenty of room! We found we didn't really spend a lot of time in the cabin, and when we did it was mainly for sleeping/showering/re-grouping.
jkjmt Posted September 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2010 If money is an issue, you can get five in a room. Our friend booked 5 in a room......2 adults, and 3 20 somethings.......it was tight......but how much time do you actually spend in the room. Their room had the king for the parents, a slide down bunk from the ceiling, a twin sofa, and they brought in a cot.......
Julienatul Posted September 13, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2010 It will be a tight squeeze but we have done it. If you coordinate who will shower/when and dont spend too much time in the cabin, its great. If you like to lounge around the cabin and can afford it go with connecting cabins..great for the 2nd bathroom
nybumpkin Posted September 13, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2010 You can't put five in a cabin on Conquest-class or Spirit-class ships. Fantasy-class, Destiny-class, and Carnival Dream have cabins that will take five. We did it twice on Carnival Victory - first time the kids were 13, 8 and 4, second time they were 15, 10 and 6. You get a quad cabin and they bring in a rollaway for the fifth passenger. Most times we get a balcony cabin for ourselves and an inside across the hall for the boys. We just had a quad cabin last week on Carnival Glory for a four-day cruise (just the two younger boys with us this time) and I think we've been spoiled by having two cabins. It was a tight fit for us.
scrapmamma Posted September 13, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2010 We are cruising in November and booked a standard inside cabin for the 5 of us. It will be myself, my DH and three children 15, 11 5 I'm assuming they will bring in a roll-away bed and we'll have the two bunks for the kids. Gives space to spread out and more importantly, 2 bathrooms.
Frenchsnowhite Posted September 13, 2010 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2010 You can book an inside cabin on the Fascination, and the Triumph for 5. You can book an ocean view cabin on the Dream for 5.
DqALEX Posted September 13, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2010 We had 5 in a cabin on theTriumph it was a cat 12 and it still felt like to many. I would get 2 cabins. Having 2 bathrooms is worth it alone.
firefly333 Posted September 13, 2010 #10 Share Posted September 13, 2010 Any ship built year 2000 or earlier, you can put 5 in any quad and they give you a rollaway. Smallest cabins, oldest ships only allow this.
DSA Posted September 14, 2010 #11 Share Posted September 14, 2010 Hi, We did five in a cabin (2 adults, 3 kids) on the Victory and the Sun (NCL) and it was fine. We are now booked on the Liberty for next year and the price for a balcony for 2 + an inside for 3 across the hall was about the same that both of our cabins for 5 cost us each time. Do the math, you may be surprised !
loveJake Posted September 14, 2010 #12 Share Posted September 14, 2010 My suggestion would be to book the Dream, or new Magic, if you want 5 in a cabin. The layout is good and you do not need a cot. There is a split bathroom so you will have extra space there. There is more sq. footage then a regular OV cabin, plus you get a window for light vs. an inside.
