Is the HO HO bus the same as Turistic?

In pictures of Barcelona, I've seen photos of a "Turistic" double decker bus. Is this the same as Hop On Hop Off?

It's a "liner" touristic service.

A liner bus which connects the sights of Barcelona.

The only difference is: due to the size of Barcelona each company runs more than one line to connect all major lines.

So you can hop-on the bus and hop-off the bus at the next sight and visit it. After the visit you just hop-on the next bus etc. So you pay for one route if you do not hop-on/hop-off and just sit for one circle or you buy a day-pass (or multiple-day pass) and can go as the bus run.

To see all sights you need to do the different lines (which are in Barcelona in different colors) like with Bus Turistic service: green loop, blue loop and red loop.

Hope you understand the system:

In Barcelona you have three different bus operators.
