Leejnd4 Posted February 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2005 Hi, I've been trying all morning to access http://www.trenitalia.com, as I'm trying to plan for a couple of my days in Italy ports. I keep getting "that page is not available". I don't know if it's something in my computer. Can someone else try it and see if you can get in? I'm getting frustrated -- today I set aside a couple hours to firm up my plans and get specific times etc, and I'm unable to do that. Thanks! wwinfl91 Posted February 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2005 I finally got in but the page is coming up very slow and I have a good fast cable modem connection so I would guess they are having a problem with the site. If you are on a dial up modem I suspect you would time out given how long it is taking with my connection. Hope that helps a little.
marp109 Posted February 15, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2005 it came v-e-r-y slowly and I'm a cable modem but it did finally arrive. Good luck!
Leejnd4 Posted February 15, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted February 15, 2005 Thanks for trying. I'm on high-speed cable too, and I did finally get something to show up, but like you said it's extremely slow. It came up enough for me to type in a schedule request, but after a long time I got a pop-up that said "Document has no data". So they must be having site problems. I'll try again tomorrow. cruisingmimi Posted February 17, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2005 Hi Leejnd4, Did you ever connect w/ the Trentalia website? I just tried & it opened immediately for me.
Leejnd4 Posted February 17, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted February 17, 2005 No, I still can't get to it. GRRR! I don't think it's my computer, because I'm not having any trouble with any other sites, just that one. Every now and then it'll come up slooooowly, but it won't process any of my schedule requests. Thanks for trying! I guess I'll just keep at it until it comes back up. LeeAnne
trvlnliz Posted February 17, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2005 You can use the German rail site in the meantime. I like it better anyway. Here's the link. http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en?newrequest=yes&protocol=http:&
Leejnd4 Posted February 17, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted February 17, 2005 Thank you, trvlnliz! That site works perfectly. It gave me exactly the information I needed to plan my port stop in Portofino. I still can't get into trenitalia, but now I don't need it! pachecos Posted February 18, 2005 #9 Share Posted February 18, 2005 I see there are two stations in Livorno - which one is the one near the cruise ship pier?
trvlnliz Posted February 18, 2005 #10 Share Posted February 18, 2005 pachecos, It is Livorno Centrale
Leejnd4 Posted February 18, 2005 Author #11 Share Posted February 18, 2005 Livorno Centrale is the one you want. There are a couple other stations, but you'd have to make connections to wherever you're going (i.e. Florence -- it's direct from Centrale). SheilaNC Posted February 18, 2005 #12 Share Posted February 18, 2005 Try http://www.trenitalia.com/home/en/index.html It's the english version of the site. I didn't have any trouble getting in with Cable connection. Good luck!
