best location of tables in MDR

Best location is such a variable thing. Some people like the windows, some don't (glare, the sight of the ocean makes them queasy, sometimes it's harder for the server to get around the table). Some like the centers (seen and be seen, but then maybe that doesn't meet your need for privacy). Some like the spots near the entry doors (good for people with mobility problems, or those who use scooters or wheelchairs).

Requests are probably not going to be filled, unless the ship is sailing less than full and there are many vacant tables.

We have anytime dining and are wait listed for early dining. Is anytime dining done in the downstairs or upstairs area or won't it matter on the Summit? How is it handeled does a person just show up at the main dining room and tell the host/ess they have anytime dining? I would think it might be chaos if everyone with anytime dining would show up!

We prefer the "alcove" areas in the back by the windows. We find it is much quieter and warmer. But there are others that don't like it because you feel kind of isolated and they want to be where all the action is. It is all personal preference. There is no right or wrong answer, just depends on your particular likes.

If you know the exact table number, you can request it and they will note it on your reservation. They will tell you that they don't guarantee it, but usually you get what you want. At least we did last time on the Solstice and hopefully we will again this time on Eclipse.

Have a great cruise!

We prefer to be "out of the way" along the side or tucked in a corner. We prefer a table for two and like to have as quiet a dining experience as possible. We prefer to not have to have a million people walk past our table every night while we are trying to enjoy our dinner.

It depends on personal preference. I am not a fan of the small tables they have in the far aft of the dining room, on the side of the galley entrance - very cramped and you feel like you're in another dining room. On our last S-class, we had a table in the center of the MDR and loved it. You really got to appreciate the whole dining room from that area, and it wasn't noisy or anything.

If you're concerned, you can go to the MDR and check/change the location of your table assignment on embarkation day.
