azipod problems pearl?

Recommended Posts

I didn't see a mention of it in a rollcall for the Pearl leaving on the 17th. I Googled it and found there was a problem in 2008, so that may be old news you heard. Several reports on other ships over the last few years too. NCL did post a problem on the Dawn last month, where one of 3 azipods was out of service, so they were going to continue at reduced speed and shorten some port stays by a couple of hours.

So it may not be a big deal if Pearl is having problems again. You'd be better getting information directly from NCL, but also look for a rollcall for your cruise, as that would certainly be discussed if a current problem.

No, one of the Dawn's four diesel engines blew. It will be replaced in a future drydock.

Both the Gem and the Jewel are experiencing azipod problems, and repairs in drydock have been scheduled for each in the near future.

By the way, the ships have two azipods.

Is there talk that there is azipod problems on the Pearl? I sail in three weeks. Im freaking out. Any one else hear this?

Don't be worried, the only problem may be missing a port or arriving a little late at any port. It will not affect your cruise in serious way. I see you are worried because of a small price drop, that you considered drastic. This often happens when ships are not sold out.

Relax, understand the pod problem seems to affect all ships and all lines or has in the past 3 years or so and enjoy your cruise. You are not going to be stuck at sea with no way to get back to shore or stranded on a desertaed island. Actually if you were stranded, with all those people it would be anything but deserted. Maybe it would be turned into a new reality show?
