Fhorchu Posted October 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2010 I know that you are not allowed to take fruit/plant material off the ship but are you allowed to take fresh flowers on board?
dtiger Posted October 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2010 I have in the past and it worked out fine.
cruisegirl1 Posted October 3, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2010 There is also a flower cart on board all ships. The flowers, either a single stem, bud vase or arrangement, are very reasonable priced. M
suezyq50 Posted October 3, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2010 I have never had a problem either.
wg6530 Posted October 3, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 3, 2010 I carried roses aboard on EOS on 9/25. No problem. Better selection on land than for on board florist. And more for your money.
AlibearNS Posted October 3, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 3, 2010 So do they provide vases in cabins?
wg6530 Posted October 3, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 3, 2010 So do they provide vases in cabins? Some stewards have found them for me in the past, but now I bring my own expandable. I found in the Smithsonian gift shop, but they sell them online. Vazuusa.com. very neat and remarkably stable.
kimberley Posted October 3, 2010 #8 Share Posted October 3, 2010 I have always buy some and I just ask the room steward for a vase. Kimberley
buffalogrill Posted October 3, 2010 #9 Share Posted October 3, 2010 If I wanted to buy a small bouquet on board, how much would I be paying?
wrp96 Posted October 4, 2010 #10 Share Posted October 4, 2010 Yes, you can carry flowers onboard the ship (you just can't take them off the ship). If you ask your room steward they should be able to provide a vase for you. If they can't find one, go ask at the flower cart. On my last cruise I heard a lady ask the cart guy for one, and he arranged for one to be sent to her room, no charge.
cruisegirl1 Posted October 4, 2010 #11 Share Posted October 4, 2010 If I wanted to buy a small bouquet on board, how much would I be paying? A single rose bud vase with greenery and baby’s breath is $6. 3 rose arrangement is (I think) $13. There are a variety of other arrangements with mixed flowers or roses. I am not sure of the specific prices but I recall it was less then on the RCCL gifts and gear site. My husband buys a single bud vase most every sailing as he swears it is the best $6 he spends. Who doesn’t like flowers! Enjoy M
Sugar*Magnolia Posted October 4, 2010 #12 Share Posted October 4, 2010 Thanks for the reminder! On all our longer cruises (14 night upcoming), DH orders flowers for the cabin. They last the entire cruise! My flowers at home dont usually last 2 weeks. So, we'll be ordering them from RCI.
Pomperaugrr Posted October 4, 2010 #13 Share Posted October 4, 2010 I always buy either the Tropical arrangement or a dozen long stem red roses with greens in a vase. The dozen roses lasted the entire 10 days on our last Explorer cruise. Eric
